1) How much time does it take to finish a raid? WoW raids can last like 5 hours, and that's boring =/. I'm trying to find a game with shorter raids, i can't play 5 straight hours .
2) How is PvP like? Anything like arenas or battlegrounds? Is it balanced? Is there different gear for PvP and PvE??
Thanks!

There are only 2; 24-man raids in LOTRO atm{which is all there ever will be, in favor of 12-man and smaller being more popular in all MMOs}, both of which aren't done very much anymore because of Moria. Some players still do them to finish quests and/or deeds or get older gear though. There is a new 12-man raid coming in the next Book 7 update.
Anyway the majority of instances are 6-man and with Moria several new 3-man and solo instances have been added. They are a big hit with the players as well as Turbine whom have stated are making even more eventually!
The 3-man last about 30min to 1-2hr and the solo can take 20min to over an hour depending on your class but they are fun, and primarily used for gaining Item XP for the Legendary Weapons.
Since you don't like overly long raids, you'll enjoy what LOTRO offers...
Nice, thanks!
Another question: Is it possible to finish solo instances with a healer?
Of course...any class can do them, and as a Minstrel myself they can be quite challenging to complete. I've defeated them all so yes it is very possible.
Minstrel here, having fun doing the solo instances cause most of them are obviously not designed for us primarily who are not massive dps-ers. With the exception of Ghost Forge maybe, that one does seem to be designed with Minstrel in mind. Stuff like like Cure Fear and "Stun Undead"-skill is very useful in there and it's the only one I've never been defeated in
On the other hand, never managed to succesfully complete Library of Steel, still working on that one hehe!
Library of steel you just got to remember to keep the fire spirits number down anytime you see one kill it. Of course with a hunter it is easier since i can shoot them from a distance. But as long as your able to keep their number down you can spend all day in there.
Thanks a lot for the info guys! Now i can't wait to get home and try it
Another question: I've read they are adding part of the original books as expansions (like Moria, Rohan in the future, etc). What happens when there's nothing left to add from the books? Does the game "end" or something?
Btw, nobody said anything about PvP yet. Is there any PvP at all?
I think you will have a long wait for all of us standing before the gates of Moria. However, after the fall of Sauron starts the 4th age and there's about 400 years worth of material to use. So I wouldn't worry about it.
As far as pvp, since every large battle and the meta conflict results in evil losing, they utilize an area for pvp called Ettenmoors.
If you want to take your character there then it only costs 1 silver. You fight over small objectives, keeps, etc. If you want to play "evil" then at lvl 10 you can get what is called a "Monster Character". It is already at lvl cap (or close as they raised the lvls?) and you just work on getting skills or traits or whatver they use.
If you require a pvp game, LOTRO is not it. So just a warning.

We are not sure what they will do after they get to mordor and the ring is destryoyed. They may continue on into the fourth age. Released from the restrictions of the books then they can go just about any direction they want. Though most of the evil races were hunted down and eliminated in the fourth age.
PvP in this game is called PvMP. when a player gets their free character to lvl 10 they are then able to roll a monster character. You can then play as an orc, spider or warg. With the twist that you do not lvl the monster character up from 1 to lvl cap. Instead what you do is lvl up your skills and traits. You have a lvl 60 monster but it starts out with lvl 1 skills. You do quests to get infamy points to buy new skills. you also get infamy points from killing free people in the ettenmoors. I do believe that is the way it works. I never got into monster play i am just telling you about it from what i have read on the official forums and what devs said in dev chats.
There are also 5 or so keeps for the creeps (monsters) and freeps to fight over. Depending on wich side controls the majority of the keeps that side has access to a dungoen for gear and other stuff. Now if you are a freep and inside this dungoen at the time the creeps take control of the moors you are not booted out but any of the creeps that come in the dungoen can attack and fight you in the dungoen. You will then not be allowed back in until your side takes control of the moors. Also the moors is a huge place. It is not some little battleground map. The creeps home base is in the northern part of the map and the freeps in the southern part. There is even a small hobbit village that creeps can raid to do certain quests.
Hope this helps.
