Ok, if a hypothetical terminator MMORPG was created, where you can be either a human, or a Skynet cyborg chip (that can be put into almost any chassis), what side would you play?

I can't see it as a MMORPG but as a online shooter.
If they did make I would play as a T-1000.
And if that wouldn't be an option as it is quite powerful then a T-800 wearing Arnies skin would do just fine.
Well, we have Planetside as a FPS style mmorpg, and then their is Darkfall.
Think of the possibilites with a Terminator MMO. Time travel (instanced) helps take objectives. Humans would gain in rank, Terminators (actually your CPU, you dont have to be "in" a termanator body) would be allowed in more advanced machines (like hunter killers). So there is a posibility of progression, and to do something new and unique for the first time ever (time travel in a MMO).
Imagine the charactor creation screen. On the Skynet side, all there is on the screen is a chip and a place for your name. On the human side, you would be able to change your face, hair, etc, like any other MMO. Would be a diffrent style than the norm. There should be a point where one side could actually "win" as well.

Seems to me that you have something going there.
Maybe Turbine or one of those studios in Texas would be interested in making it happen?
Can I play as Arnold?
Yes you can!
But you will have twohundred clones.

I wholeheartedly agree. I LOVE the "omg I'm in a war" feature that only "Planetside" have ever done right... and I love the "Terminator" universe...
sandwhich them both together, and I'd jump into that game with two feet.
MMO games played or tested: EQ, DAoC, Archlord, Auto Assault, CoH, CoV, EQ2, EVE, Guild Wars, Hellgate: London, Linneage II, LOTRO, MxO, Planetside, SWG, Sword of the New World, Tabula Rasa, Vanguard, WWIIOL, WOW, Age of Conan
it would be great to have a terminator gamee. i was always a fan of the movies and the sarah conner chronicles. it would be great to have this kind of mmo.
OMG
Shame on all of you!
Do you have ANY idea what would happen?
EVERYONE would want to be arnold ssdfsdfsjlfhsjfhs his last name is spelt.
We don't need that.
Nope.
PS - All mammals have nipples.
Get over it already.
I do not think any game company could afford to do that. Its just skin over a metal endoskeleton. Even in Terminator 1 there was 2 diffrent terminators (Kyle flashback scene).
Who wouldn't want to be a flying hunter killer, or the new terminator bikes? You are just a program, so anything is possible.

Maybe my imagination is limited but what about variety?. What else would you be fighting besides terminators?. My guess would be terminaotrs with skin. Terminators without skin. Liquid metal terminators and ...?. I don't see the material to have room for a lot of variety. Even if you threw a few robots and planes in there it would be pretty small scope compared to mmorpgs that have hundreds of different mob types like beasts, demons, elementals, spirits the list goes on. Within those a multitude of different mobs. I just don't see that happening in the terminator universe.
make it a MMO shooter and you would have a winner.
Players vs other Players. You would be able to be on the Skynet side as a programed chip, or on the human side as a human. The only problem is, what do you do with the players that want to kill their own side?
As for depth, you can do that with NPC's, and make it non-direct. Go back in time to kill that NPC's father, making the future NPC dissapear. This game would be more closely tied to the Fox series going on now than anything. Lots of time travel to kill people, move supplies, etc.
