Let me be honest here, I have never tried either Hibernia or Midgard classes and always battled agaist them instead of for them. I have looked at their classes and alot of them are unique.
I come to realize both factions got their perks, but me and my friend wanted to try out Midgard instead of of Hibernia due to the viking lore.
Does the same duo combo of class for PvE / RvR still roll the same on the almost mirror type classes for Albion?
My mains for Albion was a Paladin, Cabby and Heretic and enjoyed these classes. I was thinking of doing a Thane for Mid, but trying to figure out a nice duo combo for both PvE and RvR for Midgard classes.

Paladin = Thane or Skald (I say skald because battlesongs is all wrapped up into 1 line, no need to switch weapons of anything).
Cabalist = Spiritmaster or Bonedancer
Heretic = Warlock or Valkyrie, Not much of a comparison there.
Basically it boils down to what kind of toon you're playing and what the other person likes.
If you're a heavy endurance user that melee's a lot then you're going to need a shaman with endurance regen. If you're a power user you're going to want a healer that has mana regen. If you or your partner don't fee like playing an all out support character then I'd suggest a Skald as a good character for the other person due to speed and some minor regen songs.
I don't know if you're playing on Classic or not but in case you do, just buy some pots and you should be fine playing a duo made up of any kind of configuration since pots will give you endurance regen as well as power regen. A few realm ranks and your regeneration rates should be just fine especially if you're ganking since you won't be engaging in prolonged battles that last upwards of 15 minutes straight.
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
Thanks!
I managed to sink some hours into the Midgard faction on the Classic server Lamorak. And enjoyed the Thane, Hunter and Runepriest. Now I just got to pick one and level it.
I also play on the Gareth server with my Albion faction, but decided to try out a new face for now instead of the same ole, same ole. I may go back to Albion since I got my mains there, but seeing DAoC from another faction is sure refreshing.
Anyways to my surprise when I was in the newbie tutorial zone I manaed to see other players carrying on. Of course this was the weekend, but it was nice to see people running around especially the folks that you knew were 2 boxing accounts.
So far it looks like I been bitten by the DAoC bug again. I appreciate all the help you folks have given!!
I just remade a hunter alt with some old friends. We very rarely got touched fighting orange mobs. On reds we got hit maybe 2-3 times. We went from 1-30 in about 4 hours of BG grinding. Then one had to leave and myself and the other friend got to 38 before we both passed out lol. 3 Hunters are really good gank squad too. Several times while leveling in the BGs we came across albs and hibs. From 1-38, I only died once (stupid inf) and my friends didn't die at all.
From the sounds of it, you'd like a skald, thane, valkyrie, or shaman.
