I want to see what a...certain fanbot thinks about this; he has "Darkfall release 25th February!" in his quote.
Sensible fanbots would realize the game needs some more work and should be delayed. Victory for the trolls? Maybe, if you really want to look at it that way. More like a victory for yourselves, though with Aventurine I'm not sure how much of a victory that'll really be. The game kinda has to improve if it's delayed, otherwise the delay wouldn't be justified, so...
I'll have to disagree. Tasos himself told this site just last week there's no truth to the rumors that there would be a delay, (yes , I know, when did I start believing him?) however I also think they've hit the bottom of the well when it comes to cash and they need to get some coming in now. (understandable of course)
Their limited launch will enable them to control the influx of players, and the pent up demand should actually work to their favor, especially if most folks playing really enjoy it.
Of course, I could be wrong, but that's the fun of DF, always trying outguess that sly fox Tasos.

As much as I would hope to see a delay, I have it on pretty good authority that that date is going to hold this time, as well as the NDA dropping very soon.
Tasos can't do right for doing wrong at the moment. If he releases on the 25th it will be an unfinished game and the Trolls will have a field day. Equally the same will happen should he push back release to get it finished. Either way he's screwed.
I'm actually starting to feel a bit sorry for him, but I can't help but think he's brought this upon himself to a certain degree.
I think the game will release on the 25th .. but only to pre-orders.
I predict the rest of us will have to wait, possibly for a month or so, while AV use the preorders for the stress test and squash the inevitable bugs.
This isn't a bad thing tho .. the fanbois get to play their game, and will love it even if it is NQR (not quite right), and us normal folk will wait a little longer and will eventually get a quality game upon the 'real release'
If you are looking forward to Darkfall you should cross your fingers that they delay it, there is no way this game will survive in its current state. There are some fundemental issues with the game that need fixing before this game would even have a chance of retaining a healthy subscriber base and said issues will not get fixed in 9 days. If they release on the 25th the game will be Vangaurd all over again.

I seriously can't believe that this will be V:SoH all over again. SOE won't even come close to touching this pile and that is all that saved V:SoH even though Vanguard was much more polished then this turd.
Remember Tacos in his own words said that they turned down some large US distributors which would imply Sony, EA, and others. They won't come back to him again. He cooked his goose back then assuming that he "actually" talked to any of them (I don't believe it for a moment myself)
It's now 9 days from the latest supposed launch date for Darkfall, and nothing yet. No system specs, no clue about open beta, an NDA still in effect, etc. They're far more secretive than Vanguard ever was. Makes you wonder what they're hiding at this point, at least IMO.

people want games to be made yesterday and the best game ever.. please this is a small group of people trying there best to give US the best game they can make so i don't know why you all freak out when they delay it cause it's not ready in there eyes, you want a bug filled game and missing content like newer games that have come out in the past or you want a game that finaly has all the content and works fine on day 1 ?
well i just hope they get it right cause i know there will be a tone of post about how they screwed it up if it's not
i am not a fan of this game i am just a gamer sick of bad multi player ACTION games and can't wait for a real mmoRPG
I guess the question is rather "can they delay the release?" rather than if they will. Sometimes the money (the lack thereof) won't let a company to postpone their product's release as they wish.
I just remembered, wasn't the date for taking pre-orders 15th February? Maybe that was just a rumor.
Shrug, obviously you're someone in the know. Here is another "Darkfall will be released 1 week ahead of schedule" If I am wrong, ban me and decapitate my dog
Oh sorry my post is redundant someone else already pointed out how rediculous you sounded
If there is no news by the end of the week then you can figure a push but really with limited release and digital DL only for publishing then it's not going to take them long to release. All they need to do is launch account registarion for pre-order then open order and go live with server clusters. Thats it. No big fan fair. Servers will crash people will launch DOS attacks its how they respond once the gates are open that will determine the success of the game.

Yes, because he has a half-finished, amateurish game on his hands that he has claimed to have been in complete state... forever. Who's fault is that?
If he was smart he would get the pre order information in now before he lifts the NDA. This would be today or tomorrow. He would then release the NDA sometime this week-end after he has given the people time to pre order. Once the game comes out and everyone sees how un-finished it is, they will quit, but not until after they got screwd out of $50. This is really the only way they will make a profit now.
When it gets delayed would anyone really be surprised? The only difference is fanboys would say that they knew it would be delayed and expected it. If it's not delayed the fanboys will say it's amazing how it is. Don't expect a delay until probabley thursday.
I have it on good authority that the game will be released to those who pre-ordered only, and that the NDA will remain in effect. Dont ask me who told me this, he didnt give me his/her name.

Good authority normally means a reliable and crediable source.
If you don't know their name or their gender even, there is no way that it is on "good authority"

The pre order crowd will be screwd out of a "nominal fee", like $5 or so to reserve a copy. They won't charge the $50 till you register the game and try to log in.
That said, I wouldn't mind a delay. Either way I will try it out. Fifty bucks is no big deal to see if the game is any good. It is not a life changing event. It is a video game with some possible nice features, if they ever work, but nice none the less.

Yes because the SECOND he lifts the NDA all these poor loyal Beta testers can finally run free and tell everyone what a crap game it is, funny that ppl who disliked the game remained so loyal to the NDA while the people who liked where apperently all leakers.
Im sure lifting the NDA will give a completly new view of the game that will contradict all the leakers imidietly...

but did anyone really doubt it? I don't think there was a single beta leak that said the game was ready for release.
Do you actually have an substantial reason or proof to your claim? Normally, in the world of statements, we like to see some form of legitimacy.

Except that Vanguard lifted their NDA and started a public open beta almost three weeks before they went live:

It wont get delayed, they need the money.
Simple fact is a game of this complexity will never be truly done, but from all reports its more then playable now.
Looking forward to it myself, and if they do delay it another month, thats fine too.
