You're using a MAC, could you tell me the make/model of it?  I could then find the system specs...

1/2Ghz MAC?  I have no idea if that's good or not.  Your CPU is a G4 right?  Do you know what kind of videocard you have?  Probably an ATI All-In-Wonder?

I would also download Direct X 9.0c, update your OS [if you can], get the newest drivers, etc... all these will also play big roles in your overall performance.

Those are your specs for your PC right?  I want to make sure you're not talking about your MAC.

I don't see why you should have any issues playing WoW.

Do you know what type of videocard you have?

I'm confused.  You gave me the system specs. for your PC, so you must have a videocard of some sort in there so you can see the screen.

I would [if you're on a budget] buy either a GeForce FX 5900, or an ATI 9800.

Both a pretty cheap now, and you won't be sorry with either one.  I took my GF 5900, modded it to a 5950 Ultra, then overclocked the sh*t out of it.

No no... it's an API.  Just like Open GL, Glide and there's Direct 3D...

Microsoft DirectX is a group of technologies designed to make Windows-based computers an ideal platform for running and displaying applications rich in multimedia elements such as full-color graphics, video, 3D animation, and rich audio. DirectX 9.0 includes security and performance updates, along with many new features across all technologies, which can be accessed by applications using the DirectX 9.0 APIs.

It's what Direct 3D games use for their graphics... Go HERE and download 9.0c

A lot of newer games won't let you play them unless you have DX 9.0b.

How to find out what videocard you have...  Dxdiag should tell you.
