Just saw the video on 1UP. Not sure if I should post a direct link to it or not, but it's right on the front page of their video section here www.1up.com/do/featuresIndex. It's right at the end, if anyone wants to see it.
If Mass Effect's 2 seconds of ass crack and off screen sex caused a good sized shitstorm, I can't wait to see what this brings. Seriously. I love watching News reports warning America about the dangers of video games.

It's really fucked up in this country how portraying a nude human body is a greater offense than stealing billions of dollars.In many European countries (including Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France and even England), nudity is considered something natural and even displayed in teenage magazines as a way to familiarize kids with anatomy during their development (i.e. Bravo).
We all have the Puritans to thank for it really... as we were the last ones to burn witches in the "civilized" world.
This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.
I love how they call it "full frontal nudity". Like you need to make a distinction somewhere between quarter / 0.5 and full frontal nudity.
Anyway, I go to art school and I'm kind of torn on this subject.
The thing is, there's nothing wrong with nudity..depending on the demographic you present it to. But when I go to flickr to get some references or when we had full nudity classes .. you can see there's a lot of people who just can't handle nudity.
So, yes in a way it's censorship and yes we are more open in Europe about certain things, but you also have a lot of people in both the US and in Europe who simply can't deal with the human body and can't handle nudity.
Another thing is that people don't want censorship....a concept fine by itself....but only want nudity of attractive bodies and anyone who doesn't comply with the "standard" people have made up for themselves is considered "inappropriate".
People seem to want nudity, but only sexy and attractive bodies are allowed, when "normal" average people would start to be portrayed nude, suddenly people would be offended again.
1. Some people simply can't handle nudity, because they are perverts, never saw nudity in their life or can't deal with nudity in general.
2. People only seem to want to deal with attractive nudity but anything beyond a standard body is then offensive again, aka people don't know what they want.

I don't understand. On TV and everything, it's sexy and even funny to see a nude man or a bare ass of a man or male baby. Females? Oh you get juged when a boob or V-Jay Jay pops out. I just never undersood this. I think I've seen more (bare?) naked men growing up on tv than anything. Cartoons, corney TV shows, Movies, etc. Nothing is equal around here.

I've noticed the very same thing...it really doesn't make any sense to me...somehow it's okay to show a gross man's ass on TV but not a woman's...but any amount of breast is okay so long as there is no nipple, because we all know that the only provocative part of a woman's breast is the nipple right?
