Atlantica online is ok, def not #1

How the heck this game made it to first place on the game list is to me a bit of a mystery. Best guess is hardcore dedication from fanboys that vote their happy little fingers off.
Its a free mmorpg and as all free mmorpg's they get boring fast for most of us. The whole game experience feels cheap and reek of the same unidentifiable smell we have all noticed before from Silkroads, Bloodymare and all the other Korean free to play micro payment games.
It has several unique features tho, and if you are in between games i can recommend you play this just to see that it is different in many ways. Like the having up to 9 players in your team. You control all of them in a turn based manner. You can team up with up to 2 other players as well, each with 9 toons.
The autorun feature is a nice addition as well and makes the game bearable for a few hours more but its hard to feel any sense of purpose at all when you add the Auto-battle, Auto-crafting and all the different automated things to do. Bot-Online anyone?
All in all its just another Korean grind fest with a couple of new ideas. It does NOT deserve top of the games list by any chance. As i see it, the players not in between games, like me and maybe you, have better things to do that voting a mediocre game as someone mentioned previously up to first place on the mmorpg.com games list.
Claiming that Atlantica online is the best mmorpg available to human kind is like saying that the McDonalds cheeseburger is the finest gourmet meal available to man kind.

If you want to flame and troll, feel free. I did my duty and said what i think of the game as honestly as i could and i strongly doubt i will care about what any of you say as a reply. My reason for bothering to post in the first place is that all the fanboy posts and flaming of the only other critical voice provoked me.

I'm not a huge fanboy of Atlantica, I gave it my 9 and went on with my life playing it and enjoying it...
But it seems your entire post was whining about it having the top spot and complaining about people who like it. It's got the top spot on the site for now...emphasis on 'for now'. Get over it.

Well OP I'm not saying that Atlantica is the top game but what game is???....If youre going to say it isnt then you need to give us some insight as to what is...........Atlantica is probably the best of the free games (maybe RoM if that is more your style).......
Well, your not only the person played the game, there are lot of gamers around the world playng it.
It's not no. 1 for you but for others yes...
of course this thread is subjective that means it came from different opinion that we can't blame..
for Atlantica they did they're best competing to other games.
the best thing to do is to not blame people for what they think about a particular game. as for myself, i am still a newbie in these games...i just find them really stress-relieving no matter what game they maybe. they do have their own pros and cons and we should just let it be. right?
I tried it a bit, was nothing really special. Ok I guess but really not number 1. The art style was nice but the graphics bad.
Sometimes the scores get a bit odd here, but that is of course the price with the voting system. People vote to early or some site makes a link an tell all their fans to vote...
Nice bs post op. Anyway its true this game is a bit lacking on 3d geometry, content and the interface doesnt feel good.
But its does have a lot of nice features that make it def worthy of being in the top 5. The gameplay here makes wow feel like a gameboy game (the old grey gameboy).

Other than graphics, I think it really stacks up as a really good game.
It's got a lot of quests, so you really don't have to grind. Yeah, there are some blank spots between quests, so grinding is necessary, but for the most part, until the end game, you really don't.
And while I wouldn't say they are the most exciting quests ever, there is a decent amount of variety. Sure, lots of kill X (to get Y), but quests where you have to enter in words, quests where you just use items, quests where you get info on creatures.
There's a lot of encouragement to group. Some games penalize you, resulting in lots of solo players (LOTRO for instance) but this really rewards you. So people do it.
The amount of in game tools is pretty slick. Selling stuff on the market is the best I've seen in a game, the message board is useful,

This has no basis, a good basis would be surveys, thats why they make the rating systems. You alone does not represent the total population of online gamers. People are voting the game because they like it and game fans cannot vote more than one time here unless they go from computer shop to computer shop because of the IP address.
So what game do you think is number 1 then? and why is it number 1 for you.

well sorry for you ikkeno, there's a lot of people playing this game and they love it that's why the post that this game is the no.1 game. this may game might not be the no.1 for you but to other people it is so you cannot do something about it we have our own opinions, we have our own judgement. go NDOORS for making Atlantica Online
ikkeno, no matter how much your english sucks (and by the way, it doesn't at all), your metaphor relating the game to a mcdonalds cheeseburger completely contradicts much of your post, unless you think the mcdonalds cheeseburger has several uniquely redeeming features.
I can say its #1 Free 2 play game, But to me thats like saying your #1 in a pile of garbage.

Specially now that there's a lot of improvement in the game, they added more features like the birthday system... I love this game

giving opinion is not a crime.and if you really can't believe that atlantica is no.1 that's not our problem because for us who wanted this kind of game this game is rocks and have a right to become no 1...

Well...I agree that Atlantica Online is not the number # 1 MMO, but...is definetely the number #1 Free MMO!
I've never really enjoyed F2P cash shop games but Atlantica to me is actualy fun. The graphics are really well done, the art style is gorgeous, the music is good. The combat system harkens me back to my RPG PS1 and Nintendo days and crafting is a viable game style. Its not as bot fantastic as the OP claims either. Auto Battle is a feature you have to buy ITEMS for in order to do plus the auto battle feature is not the best way to handle certain situations against certain monsters either. Auto Crafting is far from a bot feature...it simply makes it so you can sit in town and craft instead of fighting in order to craft. Its also faster sometimse to fight creatures than it is to auto craft.
THere's all sorts of various activities besides questing such as joining guilds and the guilds joining nations and then getting to actually own and run various towns and even go to war over them.
There's the PVP leagues, the long hard quests to gain certain mercaneries which are not part of the main storyline, title accquisitions which do give buffs, fishing in order to get some rather hard to get and expensive crafting materials, guild dungeons & nation dungeons. There's alto of systems in the game that promote community such as mentoring, craft training (you train others in crafting you get crafting xp), gift giving, birthday systems, etc . It has alot of features more P2P games should have.
Its number 1 here at MMORPG.com because a large user base obviously voted well for its various features while alot of current games have pissed off customers like AoC & WAR..and well there's just a huge WoW hater population here. Just because its 1 here doesnt make it the actual number 1 ultimate game to play for the whole world or anyone...people whining about it need to get out more.
Hmm Battlefiend heroes, Quake live wil be F2P supported by microtransaction, ActivisionBlizzard and Sony (PS3) are also working on F2P MMOs.
personally, amongst the free mmo's out there, Atlantica Online is definitely one of the best. I have been playing different kinds of games since i was young and i could say that this game really got me hooked. i don't have anything against the other mmos yet i dont see atlantica online being the top most mmo. but it really is one of the best but not the best among the best.
