For christ sake what kind of major media pre-reviews do you all expect. This is not your mainstream Age of Conan and Warhammer Online with tons of pre-paid pages in every gaming magazine.
Pre-paid pages? I'll tell you right now that that's not how it works in most of your more reputable places. I can tell you that we'll be taking a look at DF as soon as we're able... and it has nothing to do with pre-paid anything.
Given the amount of traffic DF brings to this site, i'd be very surprised if you didn't.
the NDA will never be lifted, you forget this game is made out of the US where you can supress information and freedom of speech all you want .
It will probably launch, but you won't ever be able to talk about it
Its funny i thought that happened inside the US, the nation with the biggest secrecy conserning population interest subjects. The games secrecy is all about a shamefull attempt to make people buy a flawed game, thats all.

This is a P2P title with ZERO information about pricing, specs, or roll out details with a week before release. While I agree they cannot afford to do sprawling 4 page ads, this information would be gobbled up for free by many sites out there.
Trying to justify this total lack of information is just as bad as the OP's rant.
This all lack of information causes one thing -> that lot's of people talk about it on forums. Even a negative advertisment is an advertisment. And this isn't even that negative. This is actually the best thing they can do given the little budget for marketing they have.
Oh no not this drivel again. Living proof that any example of incompetence by Aventurine can be turned into a positive by fanboys. Ridiculous.

Wow you have no clue do you. The USA is widely recognised as having the most heavily government moderated press in the Western World. Almost every single European country has more civil rights and greater freedom of speech than the US constitution. Of course if you are from the US you won't know this because you have been brainwashed in propaganda BS all you life.
The owner of the noob comic has been gone on vacation untill today. Since they have been using him as a vessel of information I always assumed that once he returned they would start giving out more information, which would mean we get something today or tomorrow.
Barring that, I agree its getting very close to the date, obviously there will be no game reviews untill the game is actually out, by which time there will be plenty, and I actually like that. It means that most ppl will await the launch and see how it goes, while people like me will have an easier time getting into the initial release.
But if we dont get any info today or tomorrow we might as well assume they will delay again, which is not uncommon in the MMO world.
I wasnt here at the time, but from what I understand the last delay was announced ON THE DAY of the release?
So most likely another delay will be announced in the same way.
Well that is certainly not the correct way to treat ur playerbase, but at the end of the day this is about the game not their ability to manage marketing. Another delay only means a better release after all.

oh really? Care to explain Geerts Wilders arrest by the English government this past week because he made a friggin movie that was milder then most put out by Michael Moore? Last I checked Moore has never been arrested in the US because of the movies he made. Yet in such a free country a mand can be arrested for making a movie, another can be butchered for what he says (Theo Van Gogh), and yet another who speaks out against terrorism is denied entry into your supposed free countries (Hirsi Ali).
Yes Europe is much better on civil rights, so long as you do what they say and only speak what they allow you to speak.

We don't suppress free speech in the U.S. We simply ridicule the speaker until they shut up. Big difference.
Played (more than a month): SWG, Second Life, Tabula Rasa, Lineage 2, Everquest 2, EvE, MxO, Ryzom.
Guys, you're being irrational. Aventurine's silence has nothing to do with whether Europe or the US has more civil rights, or the Patriot Act, or any debates over freedom of speech and freedom of the press. It has to do with a company not wanting to communicate with their player base for whatever idiotic rationale they've got, and their continuing pattern of stringing people along. That's it.
For all we know, they think that not talking to anyone or giving any details will somehow decrease curiosity about the game and will de-hype DF before its release. Of course, the opposite is true. Their silence has only made things worse.
Since there's no information being put out by the developers, and there's still an NDA in effect, speculation on both sides runs rampant. The only thing Aventurine needs to do is open up at long last about the real state of the game, warts and all. Lift the NDA, open the beta to anyone who wants in, publish the system specs and the full pre-order and purchase info, let the media come in and kick the tires around to give hands on impressions of Darkfall, etc. Problem solved.

I believe DF is looking at a release around Eve like numbers,
Followed by a crash similar to Iceland's numbers.
unfortunately Aventurine's devs are doing the EXACT opposite that CCP's devs do. CCP's devs at least keep their general populace updated, leaving nothing to be specualted about. They are very forthcoming and open. AV's devs are pretty much the antithesis of them.....giving no updates for over 3 weeks now, and no information 7 days before launch.

This is why I always liked having a box version of the game to buy.......One of these days (whether it be the 23rd or next month or next year) there will be some kind of launch for this game......There will probably be a link to some shady website where you can pay with a credit card to download the game.......That is probably where the problems will start......Then after about 100k accounts have been made and they find out the game is a scam these guys will be on their new island in Greece that they bought with your money and you wont be able to touch them.....At least you knew Funcom and Mythic were legitimate, long standing companies...... Aventurine on the other hand is a bush league company with a handful of employees that too many of you think are actually going to pull off a successful 18 gig game.......It smells of Sigil and Vanguard all over again except this time there is no SOE to bail them out.

MMORPG.com: There had been some speculation that there are plans to push the launch date further back than the originally announced 25th date. Can you tell us if there is any truth to this?
Tasos: Consistent with the usual speculation sources, there’s no truth to this.
Well i hope they delay a month or 2, so they can fix some stuff thats realy needed.

Heck, I decided to just watch and wait. Finally dawned on me that a company that can't be bothered to maintain something as simple as it's official website, really can't be that serious about their fans or potential costumers.
As for Mr.T? Heh, nothing here, my give-a-damn is busted.
Well, it is the same in the US in that regard. The double-standard is amazing. Anyway, does anyone know if my P90 will run DF? Well, it's actually a 486-66 with an overdrive chip. Thanks.

I have to admit. I'm a big proponent of the Darkfall MMO (some of my past postings will prove it), but I'm extremely disappointed that I know so little about what's going on with it.
I would have expected more information 6 months before release...and at least 30 days before release.
If they think I'm going to pay money for something without prior knowledge...they are crazy.
I guess I don't understand the problem.

See, thats the problem right there.
Most people like to know things like system specs well ahead of release incase they need to make adjustments to their systems or at least know if they will be able to run the game.
Its almost like the devs figure the less the players know, the less the players can complain about when the game goes live and doesnt work the way they expected.
