*Inserting this for the fanbois* Granted, according to Tasos there will NOT be a delay, this thread takes that into consideration, and goes on the hypothetical thought that maybe there WILL be a delay, and what that might entail, how long, what provisions will be made, etc etc.
I personally think that if there is a delay, it will come quite close to release date (say 2-3 days), and will push the game back for 1 month for *insert some god aweful reason like DDOS attacks or No Support for Billing etc*, and they will toute that the game is ready, and there will be a *trial period* etc etc, Basically the same thing that happened last month, but for a new "unforeseable event" that will come up, and there will be plenty of talk about things that have improved etc etc a new wave of beta invites etc etc more time to address bugs I mean features etc etc etc
Anyways, what are your thoughts on what MIGHT happen if there is a delay.

I just hope that they finally tell their loyal community WTF is going on with this game. Also, in the next update announcing the release I hope to see Aveturine chapter 7 papers, because that is where this company is headed if they keep on the same path.....

If a game is about to release in 7 days, and the company is not competent enough to even give a two sentence update on their main forums, then they are a company I do not trust. No system specs; pre-order information; ESRB rating; there are tons of things wrong with this situation.
If they can not give a simple five minute update to their soon-to-be income source, then they sir, are not a trustworthy business partner.

I don't see where he insulted Aventurine, nor do I see where he's telling lies. Personally, I would like to see more information from AVenturine in regards to their launch. Granted, he was harsh with the "chapter 7" papers comment, but that's how he and many gamers feel - that Aventurine should be more forthcoming or risk ostracizing customers.

Which is exactly my point. I ALWAYS used to defend this game and the company and couldn't wait for it. But after so long of doing that and the company disregarding you every step of the way it gets hard to keep hopes high. And no don't read that as a failed beta request because its not....
It is just how I and many other people feel about this company and their game. I pray that it comes out and is a huge hit as I would love to play this game as it was intended by their webpage. But with them leaving everything out and changing so many core features that drew so many people it is just disheartening to say the least...
If there is a delay, trolls will beat there chest, fanboys will defend, and people with lives will go about there day and wait for the eventual release of the damn game.

I am excited about the game myself , i wish it would come out and be what they promise...

What is really funny though is it is not just me. I know 2 hardcore haters of DF on this forum who recently sent me PMs letting me know they were in beta and were SHOCKED that not only did the game exist, but how fun it was. And I regret to tell you that I know 3 not 2 hardcore lovers of DF on this planet who recently sent me a phone call telling me how much they were shocked to know that Tasos is not a human being but a cat, and the game works thru 2 humans fighting with a stick in RL. Oh indeed we all should take your word for that.

To the OP of this topic, what u fail to realise, is that there are NO fanbois on this site or ANY OTHER who is saying PLEASE RELEASE THE GAME NOW, in fact is quite the opposite.
Everyone who is hoping this game is going to be good is saying, if they release now, thats fine, if they choose to delay another month, thats fine too.
As for the whole Aventurine bashing. Lets think a little shall we, as the OP says: let speculate...
Aventurine is an indie company who has no money.
They have a server provider that can provide them with a server cluster for the game.
But the question is can they afford it even now?
Chances are they are running the beta off their own Render Farm, probably ten machines or so originially inteded for rendering 3d objects.
Currently there are over 2 thousand beta testers so that sounds about right.
Since they are asking for a preorder it seems to me theyll need more money then they have to even launch the game on the new server cluster with about 80 machines.
So it seems to me they decided, u know lets not advertise the game at all, we will launch it first with as few people as possible, then we will use the successfull launch to advertise the game to the media.
Instead of having a big launch event which will only draw attention to the launch issues that always plague MMOs, theyll settle for a smaller launch they can control.
Or at least so they thought.
Suddenly they got 200 thousand Beta applications and the community was waking up to Darkfall not being Vaporware anymore.
So they delayed to get more time to do a stable launch.
But they keep the NDA in place in the hopes that it will keep too many people from throwing themselves at the launch, and even then they need to think about a staged release.

LOL "IF", now that's rich. Don't you mean "WHEN"? This game is the Duke Nukem Forever of the MMO world.
Besides this drama is so entertaining, we wouldn't want to spoil it by actually releasing this game. Of course maybe we do, then there will be a whole new world of drama.

Speculating whether or not AV hits the launch day is interesting, however, I have something more interesting to speculate about....
What happens if AV hits the launch , and then follows up there outstanding customer service model for ingame and client/server support.
Anyone that gives AV a dime before they see the plans for the support of Darkfall deserves everything they are in for.

I still think they'll go forward with some sort of limited launch this month. (but then again, I believe in aliens)
But if they don't, no big deal, because I assume it will be for the good of the game. I'm not is such a hurry to play DF that I want them to release it in poor condition. Heck, we've waited this long, whats a few more (or 3 or 12 ) months?
