What in the hell are you talking about. The game is in beta already and will easily be available around that time from what I have heard from beta testers I know.

Looks like CO and JGE are going to release in the same month.
Well it is almost the end of February and they haven't even done open beta yet so May-June looks to be a realistic time but Cryptic only has said Spring of 2009.
Really looking forward to this one so the June date makes me anxious but happy.
On a side note...what is with the community on that site you linked?
Ehm Atari has confirmed in a press release that it will be out in June, they are after all the publisher, I dont see why we cannot trust them.
And lets be realistic here, closed beta is running at the moment, you say they havent done open beta yet, whats the last p2p MMO that did a 3 months open beta ? I dont remember one.

Don't expect open beta until middle of may. 2 weeks max, most likely 1 week.
i may have to check this out. i wanted to hold out for DC Universe Online. i dont know if i can now.

Good to hear that they are on track to release in June. I've been looking forward to this one since I left CoH/V. I'm ready to put on my cape again.
Game is movinh along nicely. It's nice to know a developer who actually ask the community what they want in a game.
i honestly dont know much about this game. i enjoyed CoH but it seemed like there wasnt much of a story or anything. the best thing i liked about it though was the character customization. if champions is anything like that, ill be a sucker for it.
I'm really looking forward to this. Hopefully this isn't a forced deadline by the publisher on the developer but a mutual date that they both think will work. The problem that happens is that many publishers rush a developer to meet a release date which will cause launch problems.
Hopefully this works and is a good release.
