Very good news. I've been watching DF with an unbiased mind throughout it's developement and am very excited to see the NDA is finally lifted. Let's get some beta testers in here to give us all the little tidbits!!!

Nothing that is changed by the NDA being lifted.

The pre-order consists of the Darkfall client digital download along with a month of play starting on February 25th.

    and

If the pre-orders are sold out, more Darkfall copies will become available on the launch date February the 25th.

How exactly do you 'sell out' of a digital item?

Evil will always win, because Good is dumb.

I believe they are selling server spots since they cannot accomodate all the players. How many spots that is, not sure.

Server spots I guess are how they'd sell out. If they cap 10k subscriptions then that's "sold-out".

I would assume that there are only so many keys that have been generated.  Once they sell out of said keys they will have to generate some more.  For security reasons I don't think they could leave serial generation up to whomever is selling the digital copies.

    Hmmm.

Only one question (regarding this particular bit) that I would have remaining. Can you download the game before the 25th? I should really hope so.

Apart from that, bummer that the Free Trial thingie didn't happen, but at least there is a good chance of getting a broader view of things now.

Wanted to try it for myself though. -.- Darn. ^^

Oh please, those are insignificant things. I'm pissed off about the font they used for the game's name. It's gonna ruin the game, I tell you! Ruin the game!

I'm really surprised that they lifted the NDA before they released. Good to see.

Too bad they bailed on their "Try before you play, no pre-orders" policy. I won't be playing this game until I can do it without risking any of my money.

Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic
    Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW
    Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike
    Loved: Star Wars Galaxies
Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.

NDA just being lifted I think reviews and such will follow in due time.

Great news that the NDA has finally lifted!

There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"

LOL no. They didn't have to. They did it because they can't handle as many people as are interested, or that they need money. Probably a combination of both.

Hmmm so far on the official DFO forums, the beta testers are giving some decent reviews of the game. Still worried about the graphics and animations thought but time will tell.
