For some reason I thought there was suppose to be an OB so we could atleast sample this game before purchase. There is no way I can pre-order a game with this many missed deadlines. I am reluctant to purchase it without some sort of sample after everything this game has been through. What are the facts ands dates regarding this issue?

They were aiming to do one but it never panned out.
I'm sure in a few months there will be a free trial of some sort if you dont mind waiting.

Yeah u got a point, i won't be buying it until i test the hell out of it.
Guys Aventurine do not have the resources to host all people who are trying to pre-order the game, let alone host an Open Beta.
They probably won't be able to handle all people who want to play DF, I know it sounds bad and in fact it is.
But they never thought that the game was going to be so popular and didn't deal with server capacity accordingly.
I don't think they have the money to host too many servers either, I believe they run out of money.
They will add some more after realese I guess, when they will cash the money from the pre-orders.
I wouldn't mind waiting for a free trial at all. I just want to to make sure I get a chance to test the product before purchase given all the controversy. It's too bad they don't have the resources to accomodate the following. With the right investors they could of had the next UO.

Aye
But for most indie companies making an MMO it gets hard to get the funding you would need to do all the things you would want to do. Investors will look at the history of the market and make a judgement from there, and the last few years have seen nothing but 'bleh' from the MMO scene.
In a way Aventurine was lucky to only get the funding they did. If the game failed after release I would rather have to worry about coming up with $10 mil than trying to come up with $50+ mil to pay back investors.
But I am sure Darkfall will have some sort of trial after a few months. By then the game might have more going for it, systems might be more balanced and player base might be more stabalized and spread out. And by that point any company would love to show their game off to the masses because in all honesty your game itself is its best for of advertising.

LOL then how the hell do they have the resources to release this "Lrger than normal TDM Counter Strike Knives only Map", and charge for it?
They will have a free trial, it appears their business model is trying to emulate what EVE online has done. A smart choice IMO
Remember Old School Ultima Online

Wait, what?
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
On we sweep with threshing oar, our only goal will be the western shore."
