Laudanum - Join the slave army!

The basic concept here is an army of escaped slaves from the various reaches of Agon, united in a common desire to find the definition of humanity as we understand it. The group is geared towards humans only. We tend to view other races with suspicion and hostility.

We are committed to involving as many people as possible in creating a back story for this group and helping it to develop within the world Aventurine has provided us. While there's some degree of character concept involved, we aren't hardcore roleplayers. Many of us think Thee's and Thou's are silly and have no place in online gaming. We're comfortable enough with who we are and what we're doing we don't need silly language to add legitimacy to us! our main goal will be Crafting/PVP.

 

Formed in Mid 2008, Laudanum is a relatively young guild, and we don't think that's a bad thing! Laudanum was born when Magyar inherited school leadership on the MMO World of Kung-fu. The school at that time was very minor, with less than a dozen active members. Magyar utilized experience gained from previous MMOs like Ultima Online and Asheron's Call to build this small guild into the number 7 ranked guild on the server, competing for the top spot with over 30 very active and aggressive guilds, and many smaller guilds.

We were known ingame for our spirit of fair play and our aggressive PvP style, and were renowned for being able to put down large groups of people with only a handful of our own fighters. Our reputation for fighting became so well known that other much larger guilds would recruit the highest levels on the server, temporarily, just to assist them in the fight. They would still suffer heavy and sometimes humiliating casualties as our tactics changed from head-on slaughter to stealth based attacks, avoiding the very people these guilds brought in to ensure victory!

This group is now branching out into Darkfall Online. In doing so we are re-working our guild from a Kung-fu School into a multi game guild with a more far reaching lore and purpose.

Laudanum, reborn as a Slave Army, is ready to enter the world of Agon. We are interested in elevating our PvP skills to the next level, using lore based reasons to focus our rage and add depth to our battles. We have revised our rank structure, and expanded it, and we are drafting a constitution allowing us to function as a property holding entity.

When this constitution is finished it will be posted here. For now members can participate in our constitutional convention on our forums.

 

The core governing functions of Laudanum are parliamentary, with a non-elected Founder who has absolute power in some circumstances, but has restricted power in many others. Directly beneath the founder are the elected posts of Prime Minister (or Legate Prima), and Congress (or Tribunus Laticlavius), who work together with each other and the founder to come up with dynamic guild policies and changing guild leadership reflecting those policies. In this way everyone has some chance to participate in the leadership process, and we continually refresh our leadership pool with talented people throughout our life in game.

Do you want to join the slave revolt? We need to confirm a few things before we proceed.

- You must be human. We are suspicious of outsiders, especially those of other races.

- You must be willing to at accept our lore. It is the premise for this guilds existence.

- You must agree to abide by our code of conduct.

- You should be able to speak and read English fluently. This guild is primarily English speaking.

If you meet all of these requirements and are interested please go to our recruit section on our forums. We dont have a large form for you to fill out. To be honest, theyre tedious and often times the answers are better learned ingame. We dont think being able to answer what rule number 6 is on our code of conduct page proves anything other than your ability to cut and paste. None of us were impressed by questions like that from previous guilds. We doubt you would be impressed either. We only have one question:

What do you want out of your experience with the guild?

In previous games our members have ranges from ages 18 to ages 57. We appeal to a mature, fun loving crowd.
