Happy 3rd Birthday DDO!!!!

Congratulations to Turbine on DDO marking its third birthday!!

What a fantastic achievement considering most people thought it wouldn't see its 1st birthday!!!

Looking forward to the future and many more happy times in the best MMO out there!!!!

    Happy Birthday DDO.

You have to credit Turbine, I do not like a lot of what they have done with DDO (the Monty haul stuff, the grind type stuff substituting for real content, etc) but they have managed to keep it going when it really did seem back at launch the game would never make a 1 year birthday.  Whatever Turbine's issues are they clearly do follow through on updating their games to keep them going and that is to their credit.

I agree that DDO seemed like it would not make it past year 1 as it was a poor game when it initially launched.  To think how far they've come since then deffintely warrants attention and commands respect.  The potential of this game has only increased over the last few years and with module 9 it's going to be interesting to see where it goes.

the most difficult thing for me was to accept that DDO was not the AD&D game I used to play when I was younger.  Thankfully it does not follow the static game play present in the mainstream MMO's and rewards those seeking more of a tactile strategy based dungeon crawl or hack-n-slash..  Regardless of how fun it is today it most deffintely has room for improvement inregards to non combat aspects of the game.

I have yet to play another MMO with a combat system that is equally engaging.  If anyone has recomendations for another MMO that has a comparible or better combat system I would love to give it a try.
