God I don't blame them for locking it. The only place we can get any information or news from the devs and people are idiotic enough to spam it with stupid shit the entire time.

They have shut down all forums and mIRC....guess they dont want anyone talking about how bad this launch is lol..........

All the people I saw get booted out of the official IRC were acting like idiots. They got booted for a reason. That being said, IRC sucks for any official notification. Aventurine should have a news post on their website's main page and they don't. Chatting via IRC, where you can barely read chat as it flys by or on forums that haven't been up consistently all day is simply poor communication and disregard for their fans. Effective and timely communication goes a long ways towards engendering feelings of good will, especially in less than favorable circumstances.
If the kitchen in a restaurant I'm dining at is overwhelmed with orders, is it my waitresses fault? No. Shit happens. As long as she's up front about it and communicates well, everything will probbably be fine, but if she disappears for a long while becuase she's stressed about the orders taking so long and doesn't effectively communicate to me what's going on then guess who's not getting a tip? On top of that, the likelihood that I'll return to that restaurant is slim and, if anybody asks me how the restaurant was, they're probably going to get a bad review based on poor cusomter service.
Good communication is a hallmark of quality customer service. If you don't communicate well with your customers, then your service suffers for it. So Aventurine is having problems. As of right now, big deal. Shit happens. So people didn't get to play today . Oh well. Aventurine's lack of effective communication, however, on this matter is a problem, in my opinion.
