The institutions of health, energy, and education are in decay in this country.  And it is these institutions that will either propel us to the next level or prevent us from prospering.

President Obama, in his speech, outlined these exact three as his priority.  I take some issues, actually, with education.  Education is critical, but the government-run system is a disaster.  Unmitigated disaster.  End it and allow students to go to ANY private school they can get in. Our private schools are superior to the best schools abroad, on every level, and are run efficiently.  Private education works.

The Republicans are "conservative" I guess when it comes time to investing in America (energy, education, and health care) but "liberal" when it comes to economic, tax, foreign, and defense contracting.  We cannot forget that we are a nation of people.  Our people are our greatest asset.  We have neglected our people to engage in wild! foreign adventures and engage in voodoo economics.  I mention the past because our failure to learn from it will result in more debt, more disaster, and even death.  This is dangerous.

This is a time of crisis, but it is an opportunity for renewal.

Let's fulfill our destiny of being the most free and prosperous nation on earth.

    Pro-Constitution.  Pro-Country.  Pro-American.

Every time he talks the stock market drops 100 points... WTHeck is the hope?

If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude; greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

    and

    (2) Osama bin Laden.

Is that really how you want to attack Obama?

You should reevaluate how you personally attack the President.

    Shame. . . .

Of course the fact that the banks aren't lending has nothing to do with this.....

But keep trying, i fear we may need your fighting spirit before this is all over

If he hasn't already, he will probably end up spending more money than all previous Presidents combined.

    Not so much.

US banks are carrying around 3 trillion in bad debt. 6 failed the first month of the year and a couple of others have failed since then. For many more, The amount of debt they are carrying means their assets are basically frozen. The Federal Reserve said in January that those banks that are capable of lending are lending at about 25 to 40% of their capacity. Commercial home loans (ARMS and the like) are only a part of the problem. The real issue is the devaluation of assets brought about by stagnate business spending. It's difficult for business to invest in assets when the goods that assets produce can't be sold. Many banks would gladly make these loans, but there is no demand. It's a downward spiral.

But if it makes you feel better to blame Obama for this go for it. The majority of Americans clearly understand that the Democrats were not on watch for the past 8 years.

    But keep those punches coming

What I wonder is this;  If the banks cannot pay their debts to foreign nations like china, and the collateral is all those mortgaged homes... Does that mean China is going to come and reposes Americans homes?  Because I'm thinking that might be kind of awkward.

Was looking at cost of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and is appears Obama has spent more than the wars cost, in two months. Again, I wonder, where are all the lefties yelling about the deficit. The wars are one time expenses. Obama's are ongoing expenses. The left on these boards didn't really care about the cost, they just hated Bush.

I keep seeing more stimulas and bailout news every day. How is this going to be paid for?

You know what I find funny, The sheer amount of Obama haters in these forums yet he won the presidency by majority vote of the American people. So shouldn't there be an equal amount of Obama supporters or are supporters just less agressive and bitter?

I heard a US Senator today, might have been Schumer, but I don't think so, who said that deficits are going to have to take a back burner while the economy is in such bad shape.  So they are using the recession, a time when tax revenues are sure to fall, as an excuse to grow government even more.

But not to fear.  Barney Frank said as soon as the economy picks back up, they'll be able to raise taxes to try to get some of that money back.  So apparently, the Congressman sees our tax dollars as the government's money and we are just lucky to be able to keep what they allow us to.

It is a well known FACT .. the entire world knows this, there are more STUPID people in the US than intelligent ones, all this proves is that the stupid people are now running the country. WAKE UP. I would not be celebrating if Mccain had won either, I only wanted him to win to pray for gridlock, because when there is gridlock the economy always does better.

Do you watch CSPAN? Do you see what is actually going on right now? Have you watched Ron Paul school Bernanke on economics, and having Bernanke telling him he is right? yet everything they are curently doing is the exact opposite? Please people right now we are writing the future. Please educate yourself on what is really happening here, because this will directly affect your future, your childrens futures, and the sanctity of the union.

Welcome to the wonderful world of computerized voting machines.  The supporters scarcely exist except in the mind a vote programmer.  But the TV has pretty picture of clapping audiences at an Obama rally! Yeee-haw!

Yea I saw Frank not allow bernanke to answer any more of Ron Pauls questions on camera as well, and take part of his time, Ron called him out on it though.

Everyone on this forum knows that I think that Obama is a horrible man to be our president, most also know that I think that you need to have something legitimately wrong with your brain in order to think that he will fix our country (whether ignorant or just plain stupid)

That said...this is quite a bold accusation...I prefer to go with the more sensible rout - that being that I am of the belief that yes, indeed there are THAT many stupid people in this country.

Perhaps the more logical explanation is that embittered and disgruntled supporters of losing political party and indeology meet on an online gaming forum and formulate justifications for why said political party and indeology lost. And rather than come to grips with the fact they ran with a weak and tired platform they instead blame it on hacked polling stations and the apparent lack of intelligences of voters. Or is that too farfetched??

DId you hear the voters saying how they were voting for Obama because he was going to send more troops to Iraq? DId you hear the voters say that Obama picking Palin for his vp choice was a great choice? This is America people wake up and see what we have created. I am not republican. I actually handed out "NO more Bush stickers" when Bush sr. ran....

But even I am not blind to sound economic principals and military strategy.  I do not turn a blind eye to what is happening on EITHER side, and what we have going on right now is not a good thing for anyone.

Sorry Dev.  You can only be a democrat or a republican.  Stop trying to be a free thinker.  That's only going to get us in trouble with the Obama Youth Brigades.

Obama's nominee to head the National Intelligence Council, former Saudi lobbyist, wrote that China's crackdown in the Tiananmen Square Massacre didn't go nearly far enough. It's scary that a man who justifies the brutal massacre of student protesters will now head the National Intelligence Council.

Everyone knows that Obama won because of the hatred for Bush and race.

Period.  No other reason.  His chanting of Hope and Change was just a way to get the young votes and the poor votes.

He came across as the Messiah.  Now that the Dems have control over everything, our economy will turn to shite.

Wall Street doesnt trust Obama.  Its pretty plain to see and dont give me the rant on how he inherited this mess from Bush.  It all started with the Dems taking control of Congress.
