Poll: Why Are You Playing Darkfall?

Okay. With all the rampant popularity and craziness of the Darkfall forums today, I thought I'd at least attempt to make some type of constructive thread. Yes, I'm a bit naïve. Anyways, I've been saying that Darkfall is Britney Spears and it's only a fad. Let's face it, it's the first full-loot PvP sandbox coming out in a long time, and many people are willing to play - even preorder - it just because of this fact. With the launch supposedly on the horizon, I want to know how many people are playing Darkfall because it's Darkfall.
If another similar sandbox were to release tomorrow, would you forget about Darkfall? Let's seperate those who like the game from those who like sandboxes. Remember of course that your opinion can always change; I just want to get an idea of how we feel right now.
This should be interesting. I predict 70% or more are playing it only because it's a sandbox.

I think he meant the fuss is over the fact no one can play, yet.

Oh damn. I thought he was Tasos in disguise with a mustache named Magmus. In which case I would've had a few choice words for him, like "Yes we can!" Or something.

I was a big fan of Turbine Asheron's Call 1 and this is the first game to offer the same level of gameplay that we had on the Darktide server. I played beta for a solid month and got to see pretty much what the game will deliver. The epic pve stuff was all turned off and most of the dungeons were closed but other than that it is everything they said it would be.
There will be enough for my clan to work away at for a few years before we think of looking for another game.
A lot of people are turned of f that you cant sit in town and craft to sell to a vendor. Or that is is not UO in 3d. But I was never expecting it to be so I guess im not disappointed in what it is not. All I paid attention to is what Darkfall IS. It is a harsh game where player politics and pvp make up the majority of the content. PVE is a vehicle to obtain regents needed for specialized crafting and make gold to fund skills development and armor/weapon making.
If you looking for a social club or a loner pve game your not looking in the right place.
If say mortal online was ready to go right now i would turn to them for my sandbox fix.

I'll be playing this game because I've already spent weeks in it beta testing it and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I also am happy to finally have a game that incorporates many features that most all other games wouldn't think of touching letting alone putting them all together in one game.
If you like auto attack, safe targeting, auto targeting. pure consensual PvP and shiny, tantalizing, magic loot prizes, linear progression and NPC hand holding, this game definitely isn't for you.
That good sir would put you in the first option, or maybe the third if for some reason you haven't pre-ordered.
I'm playing DF for the same reason I play other games. It's fun.
