Many hours ago, they told us that their forums would certainly be back online "soon".
Now the forums continue to be down.
I highly doubt that the forums have any thing to due with their latest client bug or whatever BS they told us.
What's the REAL reason that they are keeping their forums down? Obviously because they know damn well it would be a maddening chaotic uproar and probably be well past what they would ever want their poor moderators to have to deal with. LOL.
Still not cool though. Let their customers let out their frustrations. Especially after taking their fucking money and then pulling this BS. I think it's cowardly as hell to keep their forums down myself.

Its a plot...(shhhhh! I never said so!).
Give that man a kewpie doll!
Evil will always win, because Good is dumb.
Probably because there wouldnt be any constructive conversations going on right now.
Which would really suck ass IF you had paid them for the game....dont you think? Who said it was going to be a rose garden? lollllllllllllllllllllzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! WOW you make me want to log into some game and kill someone.
at this point its just damage control. They locked us out and people's anger has pretty much just been put in a giant preasure cooker. Folks are going nuts and the rage is rather hi. If they can release the servers soon, then folks will be to busy playing to hit the forums and explode.
If they were to open things back up now... lets just say it would be a rather large hate fiasco. IMO they never should have closed them, and should communicate better, but they obviously dont give a rats ass what I think.
So? As anyone who's been in a relationship can attest, the absolute *worst* thing you can do in a crisis is shut down communication. If this is indeed the real reason, it's sheer cowardice.
Evil will always win, because Good is dumb.
Probably because there shouldn't be. It's a fucking joke and if no one sees it then they are delusional.
Here is my take on it,
If the forums were up everyone who is venting here would be venting there demanding answers that they don't have. I assume that they are working round the clock to get the game ready and the billing straightened out. In order to effectively deal with those issues, they can't afford to devote time and resources to monitor the forums and provide angry consumers with hourly updates, especially posters who would not be reasonable and trash their forums. Of course it would be great if the communication lines were open. Unfortunately, the anger is so high that the DF people probably feel it would be counterproductive. Hence, the forum shutdown.
If they had gone ahead and opened the servers, there would have been a lagfest, crashes, bugs, and an even angrier consumer base because of the stress of so many people logging at the same time. This would have generated even more cries of outrage. To me the whole reaction to all of this seems strange. It seems that not many of the prospective DF players have experience with server births. The emotional displays seem to suggest that they have always played games a few weeks after release or later and have never experienced a launch before. My opinion is based on the fact that many mmorpgs in the past have NOT had flawless launches and have been bugged, their servers have crashed and hotfixes have resulted in new bugs. To me this is normal and to be expected on launch day and a few days afterwards. So, again I have to assume that this is a brand new experience for many of the players.
