Help. Having problems with my microphone!

AragoniAragoni Member UncommonPosts: 384

So I just bought a new headset (more specifically the Headset Fatal1ty Gaming Headset. Geeky, I know, but I tried it at a friends house and it delivered great sound) and I'm having this small problem with my microphone, namely that the computer won't find it when I insert it. It can only find the microphone that is on my monitor (Asus MK221H). Anyone knows how to solve it?

Did any drivers come with the headset?  Since I have no idea what the headset looks like I can't be of much help.  I'd suggest you go to the manufacturer site and look around there, or just google around.  Maybe other's are having the same problem and have found a way to fix it.

If you have on board sound, ora  sound card that uses different sound drivers / applications you should try to configure the microphone through there.

What he said. I had mic problems with a mic/headset combo as well (mine was the Razer HP-1 headset) and I got it working by setting up the microphone through Vista's control panel > sound if I remember correctly.
