There are more people want to buy the game  then the company expected to have as customer ..so for the company a big suceess ..for us customers not so..cause its sold out ..

..First days customers spend a lot of time in game .(guildies took even some time of work for that) ..so it is to expect that a lot of accounts are online playing..with time they will spend lesser time in game and this will open capacity for a lot of more accounts till the max capacity of 50k accounts and 10k concurent users is reaxhed..

They dont have customers they have failed as a company. I don't think they will be around for a long time as a company.

    Im hoping they fix this...

Cause and effect.   There are a fraction of the total userbase in game - so if there were server load issues already imagine when we all get in.

But until everyone who wants in can get in, we have no idea if the server is a success or not.

There was no stress testing of any real use in the beta, and there hasnt been in the release yet either.

they have roughly 7000 character created as of today, thats 70% capactiy on the server.

Could you link where you got this info...

7,000 characters created is far from 10,000 concurrent users AV was boasting they could handle.

Actually... 7000 is 70% capacity, just like I said. Is it capacity, no, but its getting close. If it were school it would be a passing average.

As for where I got those numbers. In game under the guild KOS list you can search EVERY character thats on the server to add them to your list. It shows the total # of characters on the server, and atm its right around 7k.

As you can only have 1 character per server, only 1 server, thats roughly 7k accounts, and 70% capacity. Hope I cleared it up for those that asked.

I don't know what school you went to, but 70% was a D in mine.  I think my parents would have considered that an "Epic Fail" on my part, and punished accordingly.

7000 chars in games first days is almost 7000 concurrent users..the capacity on accounts is 10k concurent users with about 50k accounts on the server with player starting to not play 24/7 Darkfall like in the first days ...

sorry but 7000 characters in game =/= 7000 concurrent users....there is another thread which shows that the journal, while showing 6150ish characters, not all were online (if i remember correctly) meaning that the 7000 number is total characters created on the server, so even if 50% (rediculously large number) were logged in, 3500 concurrent users is far from 10k that tasos claimed the server would support online concurrently

There are too many replies for me to read them all.  I just wanted to pop in and offer my answer to the OP.

It was safe to say "failed launch" when we realized they were hardcapping the amount of players that could even BUY the game...let alone the fact that none can TRY it.  Some people here are really confused about why this is bad.

Allow me to cross-examine and metaphor.

This is like a coffee shop opening its doors...but only having 2 chairs, and only one pot of coffee for sale.  Yeah, its nice they hit capacity and sold out so quick and all....but anyone with a brain, trying to make a coffee shop, would have had way more chairs...and plenty more coffee.

I doubt any of us would be calling the 3-cup, 2-chair Starbucks a success.  We'd all gladly agree that they were pretty stupid, and failed miserably at having a successful grand opening.  We would then say that, if they didn't have the money to open a shop big enough to handle even half of their demand, that they shouldn't have opened at all.  We would say that they should have waited, or pulled in more money first.  We'd say they should have found franchise options to assist in the building...or investors to help pave the way.

Darkfall has done none of this, and its launch is an embarassment by all standards.

Mind you, this has nothing to do with how good the game is.  The game could ROCK.  Having a good game isn't all that it takes to have a good launch.

    Excellent point!

Also, where is this 7000 char figure coming from? Other than totally bullshit pulled out of an anus of a greek goat...

And if its just AV dropping that I'd still be suspicious...

Yeah, this game might have had a chance if Adventurine wasn't handling it.  They could go down as one of the worst MMO companies in history...lol
