    A) any serious breeder also keeps atleast a few "undesireables" in the breeding pool at any time.   This is especially true if you're trying to breed out a rare trait along the lines of white tigers.

    B) evolution is based on nature running with mistakes.   If some kinky bastard didn't like that chick with less hair and a flatter forehead we'd have never seen the human race.

    C) any eugenics would actually halt our real evolution.  Seriously for all you know that kid could just be slow because everyone is trying to teach him in the wrong way, after he figures out his way he could turn out to be an Hawking(or more likely one of it's kids if they figure it out instead).

    D) truely desireable traits are likely unmeasurable

    E) future desireable traits are unpredictable, especially in our world where time isn't measured in an evolutionary timescale.

    In no order.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

I think the extremists are the ones to blame for alot of the bad things religion and evolution has caused. However the theory of evolution is very dangerious. With that in mind, there is no set moral code no right or wrong. It is all up to the individual what is right and wrong if one does believe in evolution. I think that the some evolutionists are the ones who want to see this eugenics thing to happen.  The funny part is, with that in mind, they want to be like God who they do not believe exists. Which is to control life, dictate everyones geneology and says who lives or dies. If there is no God evolutionists, why try to be like him =D

I will agree with you on the comment concerning extremists, but here are a couple points I highly suggest you reconsider.

A.) Evolution and all related concepts are not indicative of a lack of faith. Darwin himself marveled at God's wisdom for creating these tools. These days people who believe both in some form of the Christian faith and some form of Evolution are in the majority over those that only accept one or the other, at least here in the US.

B.) There is no public, universal standard of right and wrong for those without faith, that is true. HOWEVER, any sane being would prefer a stable, well functioning society. Such a society is impossible in an anarchistic environment, this leads most of us to follow a code of personal morals that is very similar in function to that imposed by religion. As a matter of fact, I have cause to argue that my concept of right and wrong is stronger than that of the average Christian. Simply because for me they are absolutes, and not something that is waved off as meaningless after apologizing for it.

C.) In answer to your final question. the answer should be quite obvious. If there is no god, humanity has no guiding hand. If one were foolish enough to believe that any single person or group can fulfill the role adequately enough to do good for humanity as a whole, why not? As any biologist can tell you, the human body is rife with flaws, some of which would be blindingly stupid mistakes for an intelligent designer to make. Given a sufficient understanding of Human DNA and enough research, I could design a much better species of Humanity as part of a freaking term paper.

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

Ahem...perfect in what manner? Every manner? If ever person was perfect in every manner we would have no reason to communicate with each other. >.>

Anyways...There are soo many different traits that would have to be obtained, that doing it naturally would not be a feasable idea. Now, genetically altering the DNA of babies I could see happening. AKA: pick ten traits that you want for your baby, and they can do it.
