Everyone LEAVE and come back in a few months

This game is our only hope. MO looks professional but is more focused on factional combat than guild combat, all the guild cities are instanced since guilds can't actually hold land, and there is no "real stealth" since its partially dependent on character skills (read the "information summary" section in MO general discussions if you don't believe me)... and the devs are talking about statloss for reds.

DF has amazing potential, and atm is a decent game ( IF, and its a big if, you planned to be a 2h weapon/ranged hybrid, and wanted to mainly solo pvp or guild war, the game sucks fully for people with any other interests), though its definately not worth even 10$ a month atm, the game has the potential to be ONE OF THE BEST MMO'S EVER. All it needs is time, sadly the devs ran out of money and launched early, but if its fans stick by the game for 2-6 months, the game will be great.

Right now, though solo play and group pvp is awesome, the game as a whole sucks, and it will get really bad reviews. What worries me is what happened with AoC and Vangaurd will happen here, where everyone leaves the game and doesn't look back. Vangaurd is a decent game currently BUT NO ONE PLAYS IT because it had a horrible launch; DF may end up like that in a few months.

If you guys really want to play a great mmo, just leave DF be for the first 2-3ish months (because it will suck and you will hear a lot of bad things) and then come back when its a great game, otherwise DF will go down the road of Shadowbane, and eventually become unprofitable.

If we all leave for 2-3 months, there will be no Darkfall or Aventurine.

i doubt it, they will only open up like 2-3 servers in that time, and there will be enough mindless fanbois to fill those spots :P

    Why is everyone ignoring Earthrise?

Seriously, you're looking at MO which is still pretty far away and completely ignoring the next sandbox on the horizon. Scared that ER will kick the crap out of DF, and then some?

rage i think u are full of shit sometimes but I agree completely

I still think there would of been plenty of beta players that would of supported the game, including me

I havent played an mmorpg for years, they all bore me, I was having more fun in DF's beta than WOW by far...I would of paid to keep it afloat

    oh well such is life

AoC and WAR got good reviews...the problem was the promised something new and it was the same old shit. Darkfall is not the same old shit.

Translation: Leave so me and my guild can get ubber powerful and then come back so we can gank you into the turf ... lol

Kidding, but people are overlooking the critical nature of this game and getting in early for power positioning.

People have egos and stuff and want to give themself the best chance at being number one. I think that is why people have been extra pissed about this launch as opposed to carebear online launches that fail.

You can come in 6 months later and it actually benefits you in those games. In this game, you come in late - pray its a new server and that people don't reroll onto it that already know the inside and out of the game.

    That is all :

why do i say the game still sucks when solo play and group pvp are cool? Its because everything is imbalanced EVERYTHING you can THINK of. I mean guild pvp is fun but there's a lot of crafing involved in making a city and such, and DF's crafting system is one of the most poorly implimented features, as its more fun to go to work than gather rescources in DF.

Solo pvp is fun in that you can sneak up on players and fall off the radar quite well, but the choices for melee weapons you get is quite bland, and melee combat as a whole, 1v1, is less fun than WoW melee combat.

Lol damn I need a new news feed or something then. Last status update I had was it was in alpha !

Yeah I haven't been keeping an eye on it...I will now...

Still, the point stands. ER is shaping up to be really great and it has a different flavor for once.

Very interesting and legitimate points.  I concur.  Coming in late to this game is like coming in late to a family reunion and all the food is gone.

While I agree that melee combat is not that great (I much prefer archery) I know many people that like it and like it or not the melee combat take ALOT of skill to be good at.  I played a warrior in WoW for two years in every aspect of the game and I strongly disagree that WoW melee is better.  I cannot comment on crafting besides the city building, which I think is great. Gathering? Not my cup of tea so you may be right there. As far as balance in combat goes I think it is fine now, but of course could use improvments. Everything is viable in pvp atm, shields, 2h melee, magic, 1h, mounted, archery.... Pve could use some work as I find it boring, although I hardly did any in beta.

I just found it funny that you said how great solo and group pvp are (THE MAIN DRAWS FOR ALOT OF PPL) yet they should leave the game because overall is sucks.

though gear and pots DO play a MUCH larger role than any fan or critic would have imagined... its not THAT BAD. I mean the ability to win battles with player skill is better than practically every other mmo (excluding melee, not too much skill involved there unless you invent an ingeniuos strategy, but if you come in 2-6months, expect that to change).

If you come early (at launch) to a server, the world will look be empty, and thus rescources for you (spawn points, banks, etc) are much fewer than ideal, but the world is free for the taking. If you come late, the world will be full of things to see and much more complex, however you can't just "make a city" you have to take one from less powerful clan. Most clans don't stay powerful and active forever, and 1 clan, unless they have an insanely genius recruitment policy to get a lot of good and ACTIVE people, can never control too much land, b/c the more land they have, the more they have to defend.

Obviously, though, if you want to be one of the best in the best clan in game, you'll be at a significant disadvantage, though not a huge one thanks to skill caps (in 1-2 months you will max swords and have some magic spells, while the guy who's been there for 6months will have skilled swords, bows, and some magic buffs. 1v1 you will get your @ss handed to you, but in group warfare, you can be as good of a sword specialist as the guy's who's been playing for several months)

well i mean it may take heaps of more skill.. but its not fun, circle strafing. In wow at lvl 10 you had tons of abilities, in DF you will be clicking one button and running around like a maniac for a while until you get your 4 abilities (actually 3 since sieze is useless atm)

And yeah, i forgot that 1h's are useful in pvp since you can only use 1handers on mounts (I said they are useless initialy b/c the only advantage you have for using a 1h is a shield, since the range and dps is lower than 2hs, which is dumb because you can just block with your shield and switch to your 2hander to attack (you will be either blocking or attacking, you can't block a shot and then attack, blocking is only useful when you are trying to run the other guy out of stamina (1v1) or in formations (group combat))
