Feelings towards darkfall

I realize no one cares - I wouldn't care if I was reading this. However, as I'm sitting at work, waiting for Darkfall to finally fucking open up orders for people that couldn't get in pre order, I decided I'd share my thoughts.

 

 

This is the worst company I've ever encountered.  It's almost as if all their training in whatever coding they use was self taught. Granted, I couldn't do this, But I'm also not stupid enough to release a half finished product to the public. I have no idea what they were thinking.

I really want to play. I wasn't in beta, and all I've seen is game play footage. I've read reviews, etc. etc., but to be honest their lack of communication is enough to turn anyone away.

 

I can't even believe their lack of preparedness. I realize their an INDY company, and I respect this, but any idiot can set up a purchase page that actually works.

Not to mention, The numbers were in front of their face the whole time, and they still neglected to upgrade to a web server that could handle the influx of traffic they were going to receive.

And WHO the FUCK shuts down the fucking forums on launch day. And who the FUCK shuts down the account page, and WHO the FUCK can't even correctly host a website.

With all the errors over the past few days, I'll admit I'm a little let down. I realize if you don't wanna play, Get out, but honestly, al the complaints from everyone aren't unwarranted.

The truth is, I'm in love with this game, and I haven't even played.

But what I do mind, is lack of communication. For example, the 12 hour intervals where we don't hear anything about what is going on.

I'm also tired of false ETA's.  "We'll open up the orders in the morning Euro time." And then, after not opening up orders, they don't update until late afternoon European time. Any one with any business sense will agree that this is bad.

I really have alot of respect for this company, and I know already they are extremely dedicated to this product. If I were in this position, I would've given up and blown my fucking brains out ages ago. One error after another? Really? Who the fuck is that unlucky.  Granted, most of it is their fault. However, I still wouldve dumped the project when it didn't actually Launch, on launch day.

I really do love this game. I wanna wait for it, and I know it will be good. But FUCK, Adventurine needs to get the shit together. They've got potential for a great product, and I'm afraid they are going to ruin it. They need to hire someone with a business degree and get it together. And they need to do whatever the fuck they say their gonna do. 4 days of errors, no forums, no irc, and an update every 12-15 hours is unacceptable during a Launch.

 

I realize, their tiny, and working their asses off. But for fucks sake. At least keep hourly or bi-hourly updates going. It takes 30 seconds to type a few paragraph.

This is all a bit like Second Life when it launched.But they got there eventually and people had to bare with it as  the product was unique.
