First let me start by saying I know that a lot of people are having problems with their accounts and not being able to play the game. While I would say that most people’s problems are not that bad and they just need to calm down, I am starting to get nervous in regard to what is happening to me; I am starting to seriously consider the possibility that this may all be some sort of scam. Let me know what you think. Also, if anyone else has had this problem speak up because I’m unsure if it is common.
First, I preordered the game. Great. I got my conformation email and my credit card was charged for the preorder. Great. First day, game servers are not online and I’m not surprised. I choose to remain calm. Early on the second day, servers are up briefly, but whenever I try to log in I get the error: “Account not activated (#3)”. There has been word that they have been having trouble processing accounts, so I’m not too worried. By the end of the day people are playing again, and I am still unable to log on with the same error, its frustrating. By this time Aventurine has shut down all forms of communication. Even the support form on their account website leads to a very fake looking error when you try to submit. Then last night after repeatedly trying to submit my problems I get an email. To my surprise, apparently I have canceled my pre-order. By this time the pre-order charge on my visa card has cleared and the $50 charge is likely to clear in the next day or so. I am now worried that both the charges and the cancelation of my account will be finalized leaving me with the hassle of having to get the charges removed. That would simply not be tolerable. I really wanted all this to succeed, but at this point I’m having trouble seeing Aventurine’s actions as anything short of criminal.
