I was just wondering how many of you who wil lbe actually roleplaying in DF?
I myself fancy roleplaying a lot and enjoying the game, rather than just focusing on being the überlord.
I mean, will there be any room for rp here? Or will all just focusing on killing everyone and winning?
Don't get me wrong, I want it to be a harsh and brutal world, but also with a spark of hope and friendship.
It would be awesome if there would be many of you who, if you were to be killed, enjoys getting killed by someone who rp's robbing you, or maybe tells you he doesn't like your face, rather than just seeing someone passing by and thinking "I should kill this son of a.. for fun." and then he smashes you down.
I sometimes wonder how many of the people who play online RPG's that actually roleplays. The substance comes from people interacting and creating the story, and that's what I want - substance and interaction.
I don't want it to be a FPS multiplayer game with skill options, that's just boring. I want to see a community, a society, with rules, rulebreakers, wars, love, etc.
I've got years of RP experience, and I'm not talking about just MMORPG's, I'm talking good ol' pen and paper games. For me winning is not always the most fun.
Will diplomacy be a factor for you guys? I mean, will most of you just attack a town if you want it, or will you lay siege and make demands and offers?
Just some thought I had about the game and the community. Feel free to join the discussion.

I'd like to see that too, but it doesn't look like that so far. More likely it'll be full of "elite hardcore PvPers" with nicknames like I pwn j00, afk macroers and exploiters who to each complaint about exploiting will answer "noob cry more go back to wow".

There are RP clans... Barony of Yew springs to mind. I'd suggest joining a clan interested in it if you want to get anywhere.

If you had played you would now it suits roleplaying in many scenarios.

Sorcery must persist, the future is the Citadel
I'm gonna be up for some RP.
Just need them to introduce the /say command instead of chat over large areas.
I'm actually part of a clan starting up just for Darkfall. Lots of pen and paper RP'ers in it and such. So I hope we will do well with RPing.
And yeah some convinient chat tools would really help. I have no clue what chat options there are now though. I would like to see /say /whisper /shout and such.
Now it's time to watch a movie, then check in on the updates (if any) before sleep. I can't believe how some people have the energy to wait by the computer all this time. But I don't have a pre-order either so I guess no need for me sitting around.

I had played during the measly time the servers were up and were utterly unimpressed by hordes of people chasing retarded goblins and afk macroers shooting missiles into the air.
Of course 2 hours aren't enough to get a good impression about the game. I hope it will have a nice community and roleplaying and forming random groups to raid into other races' teritories and things like that.

Waiting for Fallen Earth, World of Darkness, Old Republic, FFXIV
I will definitely be roleplaying when I get the game. I've been looking forward to the potential of good roleplay in DF.
