Just having some fun here so don't flame me to bad! I think the hit t.v. show "Lost" should be made into a MMORPG. I mean think about it. It has most of the standard classes of a MMO. They have a healer (Jack Shepherd aka Doc), a hunter (John Locke), a rogue or thief type (Sawyer), and a big fighter or tank type (Mr. Eko). The only thing it really doesn't have is someone as a mage type that cast magic, but the island itself is somewhat magical. I mean, it has a smoke-like monster, polar bears that don't belong on islands, and the island moves! So the island itself has a perfect fictional setting for a MMO. They have good guys and bad guys.
More thoughts:
You could be a survivor or an "other" and that would be how PvP is done. All the underground hatches and bases could serve as dungeons. If this show isn't begging for a MMO to be made after it, I don't know what is! Wouldn't it be cool for us fans of the show to be able to play one of the above types of characters from our favorite show? The intro that usually begins a game tutorial could even start with your own crashing into the island. Oh, by the way, I think it should be done Eve Online style where everyone is on one server or one island and have to work together for survival.
Let me know what you all think about it. Like I said, I'm just having fun here. Maybe I'm just nuts over the show! hehe

I'm a fan of the show as well, but I do not think it could be made into an MMORPG, maybe a single player action adventure game though. Now that would be cool.
I believe there already is a single player game of Lost. I don't think it did all that well based on reviews I can remember reading about it. Chances are a MMO based on it wouldn't be a huge success, I just found it funny how they have pretty much characters that act like typical MMO character classes. But heck if shows and movies like Star Trek, Star wars, and Stargate can get games made after them why not Lost?
or 24....That guy did more in 24 hours than I have done in 10 years of MMOs!!!
As someone who is very familair with literature of various cultures and time periods and has a high appreciation for any kind of creative media, I hate Lost, I hate is so, so much.
Why? Because for multiple seasons it was just a bunch of writers putting down whatever happened to sound interesting to them, with no real knowledge of where the story was going, they just kept writing the craziness in order to keep people interested...The incoherent mess was eventually taken off of the air so that they could "take a break" and figure out where they were going with the show...what you have now is still a nearly incoherent mess, but now there is a promise that they KNOW how it's going to end and how things are going to all tie together...I hate to break it to you, fans of Lost, but the show is WAY too convoluted to tie everything up without leaving glaring plot holes and inconsistencies...Fans are going to be very disapointed and very disgruntled for quite some time...maybe not SWG fanboy rage status, but close.
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.
I like the TV serial
Isn't that like making an RPG based on Vaporware? Evertime I see a LOST commercial it's like...something is there that isn't suposed to be there. I think Mad TV makes a lot of fun with that too. It's like 5 people just added stuff together and came out with something....

i love to watch tv series... but lost into mmo i don't think so may be in a solo game base... aheheh...
I only play MMOs.. well.. played.. so yes I'd like a Lost MMO
Draenor, I can agree with you that they had too much craziness, as you put it, to possibly explain it all would seem impossible. So yeah, I wouldn't be surpised to have some disappointments at the end of this story. But I don't think they were just adding stuff as they went along. That just isn't professional t.v. at all, and I would find it hard to believe that ANY show would just blindly add story elements without knowing a final result. As far as the "taking a break" you mentioned, I'm pretty sure that was the writers strike that affected a lot of peoples favorite shows. So, it wasn't them trying to figure out the story. Oh, I also do agree with you on SWG, what a mess that was/is.
