I resubscribed.. and uninstalled one hour later

I was bored so I decided to resubscribe after reading some of the positive comments here. I should have listened the negative ones.

The game looked the same, only with less population. Endgame in Age of Conan is really REALLY pathetic.

I lost some money but at least I don't have to speculate anymore whether to resubscribe or not.

I will now let Age of Conan die in peace and move on to the next game.

I think alot of others will be doing the same thing although it may take abit longer. Right now looks like Darkfall is taking the spotlight off of Funcom but there will be folks keeping an eye on em. They deserve no less.

I based my conclution on hundreds of hours of play (from launch to November).

I just needed an hour to see that it was the same old boring crapfest.

    Really disappointing.

He's punishing us, by having to read his rhetoric.

I highly doubt Darkfail is pulling attention away from AoC, maybe if it was solely the people who like tossing their money in the toilet and spending countless hours waiting for shit to get fixed. The MMORPG.com folks need to realize this game is fresh;y excreted shit and needs to be removed from this site. Oh wait, that's what brings in the money is the fuck ass' coming here to bitch and complain about a busted fucking game. NEW FLASH!!! They have their own forum on their own site GO USE THAT!!

Like thousands of other people, I have paid for Age of Conan beta since July. I just couldn't believe the game was so bad and I was waiting for them to somehow fix it. I know I was dumb but I just waited for this game for so long and believed all their hype.

Now I see that Age of Conan cannot be fixed. It is what it is. A boring niche game for kids who like graphics, fatalities and boobies.

Endgame?  So you played it enough to hit 80?  I'm closing in on 60 with my highest level toon, and feel even if I quit at 80, I'll have gotten my money's worth.

At least AOC has the potential for a good endgame, though, once they get it worked out.  Lot of MMOs don't even have that much.  And of the very few MMOs with a good endgame, they certainly didn't have it right away.  I don't get why people harp on that point so much, as if AOC's exceptionally bad about it.

    When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.

Well, my friend who plays the game fervently and was a couple of weeks ago levelling a character, showed me the game a bit. Aftter a long time I got see Tortage again (one of the reasons I can't build X chars in a game like this is because the starting area is ALWAYS the same, not to mention it's all the same till level 20) and White Sands Isle. I immediately saw that the party interface improved a bit - the whole name is now visible, lol, and that fps is a bit better, and most importantly, much talk on the global chat, especially when it came to trading, so that's an overall a good re-impression.

But (you known there has to be one)... I also immediately saw that the lagspikes are back. That is on Fury server (EU), which is prolly the most populated. This is prolly due to the fact that a shitload of people are playing there, but this also leads me to believe that FC has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about lagspikes at all, nada. The temporary disappearance of lagspikes was only because the Wildsoul server (before the merge) was almost empty. So that's one big reason why FC won't see me resubscribing.

Another guy told me that patch 1.3 (murder-system patch) introduced a major game-breaking exploit, as in players could trade BoP epix, there was even a youtube video of it. Not only that, patch 1.3 introduced a major exploit concerning pvp exp. And patch 1.4 exploit with the gold. So screw it, I know that FC fixed these exploits and some of the bugs, but what's the point if another patch introduces a whole new set of bugs and exploits, again taking forever to be fixed.

Oh, and another note. Owing to the massive lag during Fury sieges, top guilds had to adapt their strategy completely, meaning that spamming classes (mages) are back into play and guild who have most of them during the sieges win. Doh, I'm supposed to play a mage class just because FC can't fix their servers. Do not want!

Conclusion - the majority who have left after the first month or after three months have no reason to come back. Essentially it is till the same game. Do not be confused by false forms, such as patch notes and interviews.

Wrong, I played the game at release and it was in need of help. I left and came back 8 months later and its had a great deal of improvement. Our opinion are just like assholes everyone's got one. You've stated yours, we get your point, move along.

That is misleading. It all depends on why you left the game months ago. If you left, like me, because of the client bugs and other bugs in game then you might like the game today a great deal. If you found the gameplay dull back then, yeah you will probably not like it.

And most ppl will believe a less biased view of the game rather than someone who created an account today to bash a game he supposedly picked up again and then cancelled after an hour.

I resubscribed recently, I originally left due to hitting a wall at lvl 64 with my ToS, not enough content. However my ToS found quest givers straight away and was able to progress again.

I suffered no lag and I was playing on Crom EU server which again had a very healthy chat channel and what appeared to be a decent community.

I've played for a week now and found the time well spent but I won't be carrying on my subscription, oddly enough Darkfall has suddenly got me interested in FFA PvP, something that isn't exactly popular in MMO's.

I'm kind of in MMO limbo atm and not really interested in any of the current MMO's and I'm certainly not going to touch Darkfall for at least a few months after the dust has settled.

AoC is a good game but I've moved on from it, for all it's shiny graphics it is just lacking a certain something that I'm currently looking for, if this was my first time in AoC I would probably carry on playing, but it isn't.

Funcom are doing a decent job of turning things around, bad launches hurt you and you only have to look at the forums to understand that alot of gamers won't move on from past mistakes and give games another look, also alot of ppl tend to adopt what others have said about a game without even trying it out for themselves, a shame really becuase if all these ppl had really played AoC it would have surpassed WoW in subs in the first month hehe.

You might have more posts than me but you know very little about AoC. You have a lvl 64 ToS? Wow. I have played since beta and I have 2 level 80 characters plus a couple of lvl 60+. That wall you talked about.. I've climbed over it many times.

You are in no position to talk about what kind of game AoC really is because you have not seen anything past lvl 65. It takes a couple of days to reach that. You are a newbie in my books.

Most people like the early levels but get bored once they reach endgame. Why do you think people who say AoC is amazing, always have only low level characters?

I do that a lot. I'll get bored and decide to resub to a game I haven't played in a while and within an hour or two all of the reasons I quit the game will come flooding back to me and I'll uninstall it again.

I call BS on the highlighted sentence.  If you have been playing since beta, then you wouldn't have actually unsubbed from the game then.  Therefore, you couldn't have "resubbed" if you've never unsubbed.  Thus, your "resubbed 1 hour played then uninstalled" post is a complete lie.  Either that, or your lying here with that phrase?  Which is it:  Lying about "resubbing" or lying about "playing since beta"?  I guess it really doesn't matter, as your credibility just became zero due to you lying either way.
