yeah i am being fucking serious. besides the fact that they have know fucking idea about PCs, they are fucking assholes. 99.99 Repeating percent of Console Gamers, are assholes. They have gay ass names like "Your Left Nut", i have seen that name while watching someone play CoD5 on Xbox Live. Its fucking retarded as hell. Let em make MMOs for Consoles. Just dont allow the fucktards to play with the PC Gamers. And yes i know some PC Gamers can be assholes too.
dude your a fucking clown, clam down and try to think logically.
MMOS for consoles would be great, and as history as taught us it can work and be very successful, look at FFXI for instance.
sorry for being such a prick, real life is kinda suckish for me atm. i dont really care if they make MMOs on consoles i just dont wanna be playing with assholes.

There's more a-holes online than anywhere else IRL.
Console MMOs have a shot, but the whole interaction thing would be a problem. As well as trying to incorporate skills into the game. They could just remove all that, but that'd just make an online third-person RPG, not an MMO.
I think they will, there has been a lot of talk from many MMO developer and publishers about porting MMOs to consoles. Sony will have DC Universe, The Agency and Free Reams on the PS3 and XBOX 360 will have Champions Online, Age of Conan, and APB. Plus Cryptic Studio has hinted at Star Trek Online being on both PS3 and XBOX 360, but nothing official. Plus LucasArts and Bioware are looking at the same possibility for Star Wars: The Old Republic. I think the big question will be. Not will they be on the console, but more will PC gamers and Console gamers be able to play on the same servers.
As for what the second posted said about Wii imitations in next gen consoles, I seriously don't it. Wii is a passing fad, its nothing more than a toy(Like the Tickle Me Elmo, Teddy Ruxpin, or the Cabbage Patch Kids.) . Most people who buy it aren't serious gamers and they play it a little, then it sits on a shelf collecting dust. Where as the 360 and the PS3 are used by people who play a lot of game and spend a lot of time playing them. I see Nintendo getting back to their roots in the next gen. Yes the Wii is making them money, but it won't in the long run and they need to start think long term. Well that was just my two cents, you can take it or leave it.
Dude if a developer did make an MMO for a console, i hope that its PC Gamers and Console Gamers dont play on the same server's that would be hell, PC Gamers and Console Gamers are so fucking different, the reason Console Gamers dont play PC Games is because they have know idea what the fuck to do with a fucking computer except to check their email and myspace/facebook, half of them prolly dont even know what RAM stands for.
I hope this wasn't serious, I really do. I'm a PC gamer and a console gamer so maybe you should stop being ignorant before you make yourself look like an idiot.
I wouldn't mind playing an mmo on the console but I would prefer them to be on the PC, I think it would be cool to be able to play on the same servers as the Console users.
yeah i am being fucking serious. besides the fact that they have know fucking idea about PCs, they are fucking assholes. 99.99 Repeating percent of Console Gamers, are assholes. So are you gonna pretend that you don't see names like that in PC games. I see it all the time. Also, I meet lots of assholes in PC titles. Particularly those that think they're better than others because they play on a PC.
99.99repeating huh??? So your friend is an asshole?
I hope not dedicated pc player here death to all consoles:P
Games played:AC1-Darktide'99-2000-AC2-Darktide/dawnsong2003-2005,Lineage2-2005-2006 and now Darkfall-2009..... In between WoW few months AoC few months and some f2p also all very short few weeks.
I dont see how it would work really, an MMO has a key board with so many hotkeys and typing and all, so i dont see how they would do it but they are coming out the eye control vision which may be the start in which you are in the MMO playing and talking but we are talking anywhere from 10-20 years before the smallest closed BETA takes place, but something like this would have a console (not a pc) just deticated to run this kinda game, so it all matter how you look at it.
I hate the consoles, and I don't want to touch one. I sad to see how the consoles are nerfing down the game world. All this "dumbed down for console" is like 10 steps back to gamming. We are losing a really good platform for gamming: the PC. Our culture values are in danger because of the console.

Define "dumbed down" because the only major MMO that was cross-platform was FFXI and it wasn't dumbed down at all.
It's already starting to not matter at all what platform you own, you can play many AAA release titles no matter what you own. This clearly isn't true for most games, though.
I think we're about 10-15 years away from the point where it won't make any difference what platform you own. You'll be able to play almost any game on any platform. We're not there yet, but we're getting there.
I hope that MMO gaming moves primarily TO consoles. I also hope they make them all function for PC as well. Bear with me, I want this because it FORCES a developement standard. It means that all the hardware and driver considerations are streamlined, and we cut out a lot of unnessecary time spent making things to work on such broad specifications.
It also means that the focus in developement is on the GAME and not the PRETTY. The pretty can only be one set thing, and the tools to manufacture it are pretty set in stone. It also means we aren't as likely to need constant updates to our PC's to play the game over time. Furthermore, it means that UI and GAMEPLAY get a much higher focus....because those are the two largest factors in Console game sales. The designer will have to consider the needs of the player (casual and hardcore alike) alot more carefully than for PC exclusives.
All told, this entire things suggests a probably forward motion for the genre...rather than the pure ASS stagnation we have now. PC game makers just really don't have as much competition to deal with as console guys do (most game companies are console game companies)....and therefore often do not have to reach as far.
I know Blizzard seems like quite the exception, but in reality Blizzard jumped into a market that was already long established and long controlled by other companies. In every venture they made, they had to fight off teams of people that already made the game they were making...and already had a massive following. Their RTS games, and hack and slash games, all had to be up against already established things...and beat them.
For once, it would place EVERY company making MMO's in that position...and do so in a way that streamlined the playground so that everyone had the same weapons to war with. Rather than people making niche games, or gimmick systems, using tech that is a stage higher than their opponent...they must simply make a BETTER GAME.
I fully support MMO console concepts. I think they will advance us further than anything going on NOW.
You cant port a PC mmo to a console it will be terrible, you need to give a good company a bunch of money and tell them to make a console mmo. Its just like RTS's forever people just ported pc RTS to consoles and they blew untill MS told ensemble to go make a good console RTS and bam halo wars comes out, its not the best RTS ever but its 5x better than all the pc ports. A MMO can be good on a consoles, you need a amazing dev, a bunch of money, make it console exclusive, and 4 years. Also I hope MMO's go to consoles because its really the only genre that you need to play on the pc and I HATE pc gaming.
I think they will, there has been a lot of talk from many MMO developer and publishers about porting MMOs to consoles. Oh, and we have a great example of maturity and good manners right here, right?
To get back on topics, I think it's inevtible that mmo's become bigger on consoles, but if they ever become just as popular? Hard to say. Like it's already been said, an mmorpg that is build for the PC doesn't always work as well on a controller and vice versa. I think if mmorpg's become more popular on consoles, we are really going to see a difference between "PC MMORPG's" and "Console" MMORPG's.
Didn't read the whole post but I did see some guy claiming console gamers are basically pc mentally challenged.
I have a 2k pc that I built myself that's water cooled and overclocked, and I play my ps3/xbox 360 way more than I play my pc. What a bad generalization.
The last game I bought for my pc was Farcry2 and Warhammer and my god were they terrible (my opinion.) I think that not tapping into the mmo market on consoles is a bad idea, there is so much money to be made there. Controls could be a problem, but on my ps3 I have a usb keyboard hooked up, so I don't see it to be that big of a deal, 360 is another story.
On consoles I'm honestly 90% more social because we are all have headsets on and communicate gameplay, imagine a instance or pvp party where everyone is talking with headsets, and none of you really know each other, sounds fun to me. Good way to make friends. This doesn't happen in pc muliplayer games really. It's usually a few guys who known each other for a long time on vent.
I'm not saying console is better than pc or reverse, I'm just saying that I think there is a ton of potenial for mmos on consoles. I don't think they should share the same servers though, unless it's pretty even in terms of controls and what not.
I don't understand why pc people are afraid of consoles, if you're a gamer, you're a gamer, platform shouldn't be an issue to divide us by.
If PSO was a MMO, it could be done. A very, very fun game on the Dreamcast. I won't count PSUniverse!! Big Dud. If its mostly action based so all the controls can fit onto your typical Xbox/PS3 pad, you're good to go. Voice chat takes care of not needing a keyboard...but its always a bonus.
I love the idea (really love) of grinding on a console. I would much rather grind on a console (quests, mobs whatever) than haunched over my keyboard. Dungeons/social interactions would be PC only for me, i need that extra layer of control.
yes i do see the industry moving towards Consoles but the majority of sales would still be PC.

What about subscription costs? With Sony's/Wii's (well, big "if" there) online, it's perfectly fine, I guess, but I'm pretty sure that people on XBL won't be so keen to be paying a double subscription.
XBL is cheap as hell, 50 bucks for a year, 30 if you shop around (tons of specials), sometimes you even get a month free. Subscriptions would diffenenty not be an issue imo.
This is all speculation though because there is no mmos on consoles. But the standard 15-20 bucks a month plus 50 a year wouldn't be a big deal to me. XBL is so much more than just an being abled to play online, well worth it.
