Looking for a new MMO to play with a friend.

Ok I've played 2 MMO's really; WoW and FFXI. FFXI kept my attention longer than WoW but  I liked them both. FFXI a bit more actually. Some I'm looking for a game similiar to FFXI in the following ways

- Party leveling (optional solo maybe? Or with a friend)

- A lot of levels (not just to 20 or something)

- Ability learning

- Fighting against monsters, not humans.

-Variety of classes / possibly sub classes.

- Turn fighting system

I lost interest in both games just because of them being played out but I would like to pick up a new game with a friend and have some fun. I'll look through any reccommended games so post a few. They don't have to be spot on match just things that are similiar. If you need any more info let me know, thanks for the help.

    Wizard101 fits your description.

-You can fight either solo or in a group, for virtually all content.  If you group, then more mobs will attack you at once, so it's neither impossible to solo nor trivial to group.  Grouping does tend to make things somewhat easier, but everything is soloable except the very end of the game, where you need a group of at least three.

-The level cap is 50.  It's somewhat expected that that will be increased with future content.

-Each class has around 25 abilities, and you can acquire up to 17 abilities from other classes, though many of them (including essentially all damage skills) are made less effective than they would be if of your main class.

-The monsters are fairly anthropomorphic, but they're definitely not human.  Well, I guess the end boss of the entire game looks human.  Instead, you fight crocodiles, salamanders, cats, rats, ninja pigs, and some others.

-There are seven classes to choose from, each substantially different from the others.  They aren't grouped into canonical archetypes that can result in some classes basically being duplicates of others as in some other games.

-The combat is fully turn-based, with enough time to stop and think about what you're going to do.  And sometimes you will need to stop and think about what you're going to do, as just doing something fast will result in doing something stupid.

I haven't played FFXI, but my understanding is that it's rather grindy.  Wizard101 is not, so if you're looking for a really long grinder, Wizard101 won't do it for you.
