Aloha!

i've played swg back in the pre-cu times and yes.. of course i loved it! i just read about those ugly changes and the wrath of the players agains soe. im a desperate player at the moment. im looking for a .. well not "new" experience.. i just want to have some little fun, till those big nice mmo-guys releases. will the swg how it is now satisfy me?

im a big pvp-player and it looks like theres nothing out , thats worth to be called a good pvp game. i just saw some movies about swg pvp-playing and it kinda looked like those people had they're fun about playing it! well i think i just have to check it.. but before, i just want to know some things...

1. is there someone out there, wanting to STOP me doing this because of some overhelming, unfathomeable, almost-exploding reason?

2. which server does have the most popularity? (very important to know! dead server: no fun)

3. if i wanted to play some pvp, do i need the addons?

4. does it take lot of time getting to the end lvl (for a mid-player.. well.. i play quite effective and much, but also got other things to do in life)

5. which class should i play to rock all other players?? (no.. really.. dont answer that ^.^  im just kidding!!)

i opened this post, because i saw some posts like these already.. lots of.. but some are about 1 or 2 years old and i just wanted an updated version :>.

well.. thanks for answering..

Grab a trial and make up your own mind.  If you are a vet you probably have a trial on your old account that you can activate.

I will only warn you that it is not the same.  Be prepared to be spammed about TCG stuff.

Also beware of people trying to buy your "veteran rewards".  They are very valuable, but the inflation in game has been insane so offers might seem like a lot of money, when in turn out to be not very much at all.  Just hold onto them until you decide.

I can't honestly tell you what servers are busy anymore.

I've played the trial version. I was fine with it. Of course i miss the skilltree.. but I'm still fine with it.

and of course i won't sell anything :>

but before i start i need nr. 2, 3 and 4 to be answered.. go for it and meet me ingame !

I can only answer number 4:

If you were level 80 before, than getting those 10 levels are pretty easy.  Do terminal missions, you can do 10 per day, and those 10 missions should get you one level.  So that's 10 days to get to level 90.  There's also the Legacy Quest line, that should get you there as well.

Well.. when i played there were no levels .

Anyway, i played on Gorath and that server seems to be dead.. or almost dead, thats why i asked for the most populated server :)

I would also suggest that the refuge is probably not the best place to ask questions of this sort and the oboards would probably be a better place.

Well.. under the "SWG Veteran Refuge" it says:

A place for disgruntled former and current SWG players to talk about the game that was and the game that now is, as well as for newcomers who are curious about the issues surrounding the changes that this game has undergone.

I don't want to start a fight or something, but that somehow applies to me. If you have a better idea where I should post this.. please enlight me. I'm going to open a new post. I don't really care where my post is, I just want my questions be answered

Very easy to find out, log into your character screen, select new character, take a look at the server status and see which one is heavy, depending of course what time you will log in, best to do it on peak hours.
    3. if i wanted to play some pvp, do i need the addons?
Don't think so, never ever used any type of addon in what ever MMORPG.
    4. does it take lot of time getting to the end lvl (for a mid-player.. well.. i play quite effective and much, but also got other things to do in life)
If you are a VET player you should have zero problems gaining lvl. Just make sure you understand to game has changed, but as a VET player you already know for a fact that SWG is more a game for the patient and the ones who truly put effort into their play.
    5. which class should i play to rock all other players?? (no.. really.. dont answer that ^.^  im just kidding!!)

StarSider is probably one of the most heavily populated servers.

Now that the last Vet trial has finished the numbers look to have dropped back down to what the server engine can manage (still heavily pop'd, just not insane).  While the last trial was going on the numbers caused problems for some; my wife's computer couldn't handled Mos Eisley and for a lot of us it seemed that the entire universes lag was concentrated on Lok.

Most of the heavy pop'd servers (I think Bria was also mentioned on a thread like this on the general discussion fourm) have the standard Restuess and Naboo / Coreilla / Talus Pvp action.  SS is still a heavy RP server and while they have stock Pvp too, alot of theirs seem to have a storyline attached to give a reason to the fight.  Currently there is a every Thurs Pvp storyline running on Talus and each Sat there's a Space Pvp one that I think once a month also leads into ground combat.

As far as addon's?  Do you mean the expansions?  If so you can probably save your money until you know for sure if you'll want to stay.  The expansions give you Wookie world and Mustafar but no/not much? Pvp goes on there.  How Hoth works in with the expansions I don't know, but it's just PvE.

Moving up in levels goes quite fast.  Between the hated Legacy quests and the 10 terminal missions a day I'm getting 2 levels each day as a casual player.

As far as Pre-CU and now; it's not the same game and if you can take that fact then it's an OK game.

    SWG (pre-cu) - AoC (pre-f2p) - PotBS (pre-boarder) - DDO - LotRO (pre-f2p) - STO (pre-f2p) - GnH (beta tester) - SWTOR - Neverwinter

No issues with it at all.  Many of us still try the game out in hopes it gets better.

Some of the questions you were asking were just better suited for the General Discussion board or the o-boards.

Enjoy the game and choose your server wisely.  Remember that it is no longer the game it once was and you will probably be ok.
