how exactly do you get betas?

i was trying to get the world of warcraft beta but i dont know how... i thought anyone voulf get them but for everquest 2 they are giving them away. can anyone tell me how to get them?

they base it on several factors such as the specs of the machine you are running, if you ever beta tested before (i know, kind of those "how can I get experience if no one will hire me things), your age (usually you have to be over 18).  Now keep in mind beta testing is not only "to get a free look at the game".  Most of the time you will be hunting/submitting bugs and enjoying a couple crashes/lag/character wipes while they fine tune the game.
