I'm pretty happy with the way 7 is, it's like Vista 2.0 for anyone who hasn't tried it. I don't really care about widgets or really fancy things, but things like this is what gets me excited. I haven't really fully compared but so far it seems FPS games run a lot smoother on 7 than it did on vista. Although there have been some weird glitches, but it's beta anyways, lol. I'm glad M$ finally started to do something right.

I've been testing windows 7 for some time too until recently - It's an awesome OS and I think Microsoft has a winner. It ran much faster on my system than Vista and booted quicker than XP too.
Get this.. I downloaded windows 7... got my key (still have the key) then realized I didn't have a dvd burner on my current pc.. So I waited a couple days... waited some more... I had the dvd burner... just too lazy to install it.. Then windows 7 download went off... But I had downloaded it already, and it was on my pc.. so I wasn't worried... then I finally got the dvd burner installed and thats when I started looking for the image file to mount.... I lost it... I have no idea where I saved it to on my PC.. Does anyone know the file name, so that I can search for it?

It should be en_windows_7_beta_dvd_x86_x15-29073.iso (replace x86 with x64 for the 64-bit version).
Evil will always win, because Good is dumb.
Or do a search for any files above a certain size ( i assume it's gotta be a pretty large file so not many files on your computer are that large).
I got to try it on a testbed at work and boy howdy is it stable! Im not that surprised since its basically a modified Vista. Evolution is a hell of a lot easier then revolution. In anycase I will probably wait tell retail. Just made friends with someone who I can get it cheap from:D WOOT FRIENDS!
Running this on Win 7, uptime is 5 days at the moment and i had some gamecrashes and other stuff crashed i used to have to reboot after in XP.
And Vista is equal to the old ME, either you are lucky and all runs or nothing works. wont touch it!
BTW
If you have trouble installing something in W7 and the game/prog refuses to run. Try running the installer in compabilitymode.
All firewalls refused to work for me but no problems after that.
(i do not like windows firewall, it does not give me enough control)
Only problems I've had with Vista was trying to get my old SB Live working with it. I got it working after trying a ton of different hacked drivers, then I reformatted and could never get it working again so I swore off Creative Labs and tossed the card. I know they are just looking for a way to get people to buy new sound cards but purposely tanking their drivers isn't convincing me, in fact I'm never buying Creative again (they even threatened to sue the guy who was fixing their drivers for Vista..)
So I'm looking forward to Windows 7 if it's gonna be that much faster and better than Vista.. I'm at 5 days uptime on Vista right now and that's short for what I'm usually at (I rebooted to hook up an old hard drive to recover data off of)
