Riiiiiiiiight.  Recurring revenue is the holy grail of any technical service industry....

    Stop...just stop.

Do you honestly beleive that this company, with as much as they have invested into this game would let hackers ruin not only their game but also their BUSINESS??

If they let hackers keep hacking and ruining the game for the MAJORITY of players, there wont be a recurring revenue.

Now most companies would post this on the main Newspage and state they will keep the game clean, give out the names of banned players etc.

AV does not even show us the various patches in which they actualy introduce new content (like coordinates on map for party) that were not ingame and just show up the next day

My point is: Stfu about it already with the hacks and aimbots and other "OMFG SKY IS FALLING" theories....AV is doing what they said they would and they are not kidding around, cheating is NOT TOLERATED

Why on earth YOU would be receiving reports is beyond me, but ok.
But.. You are just kidding yourself. ALL pvp games have cheaters and hacks. ALL OF THEM! The ones that cheat are the ones that come on these forums and talk about how HARDCORE they are. Then, they call everyone else carebears. That's why pvp games in general, don't work.
But... If you think the cheating will stop, you're fooling yourself. It will get much, much worse. During the very first day, you had several guilds admit on this very forum how they got guild cities already, GUILD CITIES were gotten in the very first hour of the game. Now, that wasn't a hack, but they exploited the heck out the rules in the very first hour!
These are the kinds of low-life people you get in a FFA/PVP game, and that's why it will get worse.
Don't blame me, I didn't invent it. But, in every pvp game I ever played, there were tons of cheaters. It goes with the territory, and if you make it EASY to manipulate the code, you're really asking for it.

I was in the game, there were no guild cities bought the first hour of gameplay.   I think you are reading too much BS on forums like this one.    We got our guild city in one day and the mobs we fought were broken but much harder as they were invisible.
Alot of people whining about the first couple days in game really have no clue.    There were some guilds that found and farmed mobs that were stuck in place.   I didn't see any of these mobs myself but if I did, you damn sure bet I would have killed them too.    Any of you MMO players who sit here and try to say that you would just leave a stuck mob be, I would have to call a liar.
There's a big difference between finding and killing a mob that is stuck in place and hacking the game client.
Some of you really need to get off your high horse and look at yourself in the mirror and quit exaggerating all this made up BS you are reading on the forums.

It might be a matter of degree, sort of like comparing burglary with murder, but both are still criminal acts and wrong.

psh Burglary? More like finding a hundred dollar bill in the middle of the street and not announcing it....

Whoa, now i am confused. Last I read the "official" word was there are no speed hacks or any other kind of hacks. Just macros and other perfectly legit player tools.

So I guess they are randomly banning people that suffer from sync issues? Like that poor guy on Youtube?

hey its nice that u feel good about it, DF's efforts have paid off.

but what most of you dont know is, what you hear of is just superficial.

It would take a small team around 3-4 weeks to comletely rip apart the DF client.

Lets see how the DF client holds up in the next month or so before discussing what DF is doing.

i dont think DF has the resources or intelligence to handle the onslaught on their client that will come about if this game gets decent sub numbers.

Decent sub numbers can only give them cash enough to,

Complete planned content and bug fixes or

Set up a complete monitoring team

Very true. I has a similar situation in CoV where mobs would get stuck in the walls of a cave and they couldn't hit me but I could hit them. Of course I killed them. Give me a break. Anyone who says they would let it be is either the stupidest gamer alive or, as you say, a liar.

I know it's hard for pathologically corrupt and dishonest rationalizers to believe, but there really are more than a few honest (stupid according to you) people out there.

VG was broken no doubt about that. Bad performance? Big time!

But you know what I could do at the VG launch? Go to the store and buy a copy if I chose to. Hell I could even reliably buy, then DL a copy. With Darkfall I cannot.

I guess this is another area that Darkfall is setting the bar higher on new and fun MMO experiences?

It doesn't take a genious to realize that the reason that DFO is limiting the release of the game is due to not having enough servers to meet the deman. They've already spent their capital during development and had to get a loan to finish and "launch" the game. Companies like SoE and Bilz could just take the money from other games, this is AV's first game. EvE probably would have to of done the same thing had demand been larger than 20k at its launch.

    What a douche...

You fail to see the sarcasm in the OP's post.

There isn't scarcasm. Every post I've seen by the OP is in defense of DFO. Now, its not problem solved, but what it does show is that they are actively fighting the hackers if it is true which is a damn good start considering they don't know how many people will actually buy the game and stay with it longer than a month.

There are some serious trust issues on this forum. Everyone claims that a single post is an 'ill-concealed attempt to [insert ulterior motive]' or is 'sarcasm'.

Anyways, I can't find the original posts of this quote... maybe people deleted/edited their posts?

There is no way that you could detect someone using an aimbot.

For all you know, that player would just be extremely good in aiming.

Someone who uses a speed hack is easily detected and banned. This is not true for all types of hacks. Such as an aimbot.

Of course, such an hack is less serious. It doesn't give people an advantage that would otherwise be limited by the game client, it just makes the game easier for the cheaters.

That said, it's good to hear that they are taking action against the more serious hacks.

They will eventually put in the cheat detection and just instaban all the hackers. Out of every MMO launch I have ever been in,cheats never last long. Once they start cracking people over the head with the banhammer and everyone loses all their shit and are forced to rebuy the game and start over, the hacking stops.

    Are you fanbois completly retarded?

Those who use hacks are secondary accounts, who portal to chest and know location, loot chest then, port back to guild banks and just keep filling them.

    Read THIS thread... you'll understand..!

So, it really doesn't matter that the account was banned, it didn't matter to those people, because all the money, item or kills/loot they got, went to their main character anyways.
