Everquest 1 - Necromancer - Best class ever made, it had everything, great group spells, great solo ability. The perfect package.
While Enchanter from EQ is my number 1... necro was second. The class just had such a great feel. I loved balancing my hit points with my mana while kiting, reverse-kiting, or pet-tanking enemies.
A big part of what made a necromancer fun to play was the overall way combat worked in EQ, I feel. You took fewer actions, but the things you did do had a much bigger impact on fight to fight. A resisted darkness could practically mean a dead necromancer, if you weren't quick with FD or your pet didn't pick the mob up quickly. 4+ second cast times and 1 minute+ DoTs. Good times!
The EQ1 Shadow Knight is my all-time, hands-down favorite of any class in any game.
In other games, I generally like either the tank/warrior class or a melee dps class. In EQ2, I liked Guardian, Assassin, and Bruiser. I thought the WoW Warrior was pretty fun too.
... This is where I draw the line: __________________.
Ragnarok - definitely Monk - Guilotine Fist is awesome skill
Guild Wars - Mesmer, Ritualist - amazing and original classes
Lineage 2 - SwordSinger and Elemental Summoner - 2v1 all the time ^^
now play wow cause my gf just want it so Ele shamy or shadow priest looks good. And of course Age of Conan - Guardian or ToS...
Played: Lineage 2,Guild Wars 1 and 2, Age of Conan, Ragnarok Online, LOTRO, World of Warcraft, League of Legends, EvE online Tried: KAL Online, Face of Mankind, ROSE online Playing: CS:GO
Cleric in Vanguard and Reaver in DAoC, reaver is unbeatable pretty much 1v1, i still play mine on classic now and again.
Currently playing : Darkfall Character name : Aeola Anara Played: Almost every P2P MMO you can get your hands on, notably: Daoc, SWG, LOTRO, WAR, AoC + Dozens more
My bard in EQ was the best. In the beginning played him even though I had massive exp hit for playing hybred and half elf. (they took the exp hit away later for those that say what hit) For my second the Shammy in DAOC rocked.
Even though I wasn't a fan of the game, the Bear Shaman class in Age of Conan was exactly the kind of class I enjoy most. Not surpsingly I also like the Captain from LOTRO.
I see a lot of classic EQ classes showing up. I definitely think EQ classes were fun....from Enchanter...to Necro...to SK...to BeastMAster (I loved my mini-croc that grew in size).
To add, I liked my Shaman from WoW. And my favourite class on RO was probably Priest, ME ftw.
Not a lot of pure tanks are showing up. They are pretty damn boring.
I think most people like to be self-sufficient (like I do), so enjoy playing classes that can heal and dps.
Druid in Everquest with nuker backup healer build. You had fast run speed, porting ability, nukes, heals, buffs, DoTs, roots, charming animals, fearing animials, and soloing ability.
EQ : Druid. Best powerlevelling class in the game pre-xpax
EQ2: Inqusitor. Best healer in the game pre-xpax
CoH: FF Defender pre-nerfs. I could effectivly deflect 95% damage on a whole team making healing unnessesary
DaoC: Infiltrator. Gotta love one shooting players on the enemys side in battlegrounds then sprinting away
Shadowbane: Thief/Mage Assassin pre-xpax. Loved playing the honorable thief then turn dishonorable when people acted like pricks. Time to rob you blind. Mage assassin later renamed had no equal in PvP. The damage spell we had could be spammed so fast people would be dead before they knew what hit them.
Hellgate London: Strike Engineer. Most underplayed build but also extremely powerful if not THE most powerful engineer build
WoW: Rogue/Warlock. Best PvP classes IMHO up until BC and a few months after
Vanguard: Psionicist. Best crowd controller and the class that were the most fun to play
Wizard101: Ice Wizard. Best defensive wizard
Diablo 2: Necromancer. Button smashing isn't my thing so a skellymancer suited me perfectly. Just sit back and let pets do all the work
And the winner is.....
The Thief from Shadowbane. I don't know if they have been nerfed since release but there was something badass about looting other peoples inventory. Since it was a notorious class most people didn't want to group with you in fear you would steal the loot. So when people would act like pricks and turn you down for a group spot you would confirm their fears by robbing them blind. Fun fun
WoW = druid (resto, kitty dps, AND tanking are all awesome with this class), second place goes to destro lock
EQ2 = troubador with absolutely NO reservations
LotRO = rune-keeper (some love it, some hate it....I'm among the "love it" bunch), hunter also is good for me, but less exciting, more for quick killing while farming crafting mats And my warden is too low level, as of yet, for me to tell if I like it.
I could pick favorites from other games TOO, but those are the three I have played the MOST over the past 4 years. In older games, such as U.O. or EQ.....EQ would have to be the necromancer, and U.O....hmm....I always like being a thief and stealing things. LOL Diablo 2 LOD Online....sorcerer. Neverwinter Nights....archer.
My bard in EQ was the best. In the beginning played him even though I had massive exp hit for playing hybred and half elf. (they took the exp hit away later for those that say what hit) For my second the Shammy in DAOC rocked.
At least you weren't playing a troll shadowknight. Zomgxppenalty.
Those were the days, lol. Trolls should have gotten an xp BONUS for being stuck down in innothule swamp... haha. I miss 10 years ago.
Tauren druid in WoW. Flower loving (add tree hugging) swiss army knife with hooves - what's not to like about it? It's the only mmo where I've quit... several times... only to come back because I miss being a druid. That tells me the class is a winner
Sorry for following my OWN post with another post, but upon reading THIS ^^^^
I HAD TO AGREE! My Tauren druid has brought me BACK TO WoW THREE TIMES so far. *sigh
Note: I'm not playing WoW right NOW, however. I've been gone for two months playing LotRO and loving THAT game too, so.....we'll see if WoW can suck me back in a fourth time from my annual "meandering" away from home....LOL!

Yeh WoW is the only mmorpg with the class system where EVERY class is unique feeling and fun to play. It is the only mmorpg where I picked a class and had fun with it and not having to make and ALT. Unlike most mmorpgs where I spend a month trying all the classes and then quiting because they're all boring to play and most of them are the same cause they use the dumb archetype system where they all feel like watered down two sides of the same coin type thing. Also WoW is the only mmorpg I came back because I loved my class and missed it.
SWG done the same thing for me with my TKM but that is a skill system and no class so I don't count it.

I'm a big ol' fluffy carewolf. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
bounty hunter in swg pre cu
mage in wow
ironbreaker in war (first tank )
i wont bother naming games i didnt enjoy :P
Draenei Shaman. One of the most diverse classes I've ever played.
My bard in EQ was the best. In the beginning played him even though I had massive exp hit for playing hybred and half elf. (they took the exp hit away later for those that say what hit) For my second the Shammy in DAOC rocked.

I'd have to say Necromancer from EQ. Loved that class.
In WoW I'd say my Shammy used to be a god in the old Tauren Mill/Southshore tugs of war.
Druid in Everquest with nuker backup healer build. You had fast run speed, porting ability, nukes, heals, buffs, DoTs, roots, charming animals, fearing animials, and soloing ability.
Despite the suckiness of AoC I found BearShaman interesting...
Medium armor
2 hand blunt weapons
Good damage (at least when I played)
Good heals
Buffs
EQ : Druid. Best powerlevelling class in the game pre-xpax
EQ2: Inqusitor. Best healer in the game pre-xpax
CoH: FF Defender pre-nerfs. I could effectivly deflect 95% damage on a whole team making healing unnessesary

Battle Mage in Asheron's Call
I could jump into a group of 12 Olthoi from above and drop them all with about 4 Ring spells:) Melee Defense on a Mage is a beautiful thing :):)
Enchanter, Shaman or Ranger from EQ.
Enchanter was a class that could be challenging being weak but with powerful spells.
Shaman just had a nice round all-of-everything.
Ranger, bored me stiff to play but being my first character, and being one of the more fun melee classes it was fun to twink up.
WoW- Rogue as was done well, same for Hunter except maybe made a little too easy.
Hmm....depends on the game.
