The official forums are full of such threads! If you can't find them there it is because the mods over there keep deleting a lot of threads, but I've seen quite a few threads with in-game witnesses of hacks and cheats. Just go over there and have a look for yourself.
I am not saying that hackers don't exist, I am sure they do as they do in all MMOs. That being said, I have been playing Darkfall since Feb 2nd minus the 1 week when it transitioned to release, and I have yet to see anyone hacking. By the amount of hack posts on the forums you would think there are people flying through the air like superman everywhere you go shooting lazers from their eyes. I think the entire thing has been over exagerated to a degree.

Your right, I haven't seen any posts on here about anyone seeing hackers, thats probably because there all posting there sightings on forum fall....here's an example...
What actually disturbs me is that in most of these threads the original poster is either flammed or just made fun off....I find that rather strange...you would think the majority of the community/playerbase would want to hear about hax going on in there game and that it was reported........
Unless of course the majority are actually using the hacks and would rather not have it being broadcast.

Actually Mythic did this in Warhammer shortly after it came out. It was not uncommon in the first few days after it released to get pop up boxes that were sent out server wide telling its players that certain individuals and guilds had been banned for gold farming etc. The in-game pop ups actually started to get more annoying than the gold spammers so they stopped doing it.
In this game macroing and hacking will be epic. People interested in this game has to know that, so stop blowing up smoke trying to hide that fact that Darkfall online is the paradise for macroers and hackers, please. Thank you.

I hear holding a loaded shotgun to your chin and pulling the trigger is bad for your health. I have not tried it but that is what people say. Am i wrong to listen to others?
I think I will listen to the consensus of opinion about Darkfall too. Sometimes you don't have to try something to realise, using common sense and listenning to general opinion , that something is a bad idea.

Denial is bliss untill it slaps you personally in the face. Wait until your first encounter with a speedhacker.
Then wipe out your entire guild party of 8 people in a matter of two or three mins. You can't hit them because they move so fast they are generally always bouncing in and out among people. Try and run away and two mins later there right behind you killing you by yourself.
So just digg you a little hole and stick your head in it and say theres no speed hacks. Its not there and just maybe..

Do the same search for "world of warcraft speed hack". Then do that same search for every mmo you've ever loved. Hacking won't be more rampant in this game than in any other mmo. Period.

To be fair though... it isn't the hackers you see "flying through the air like superman" and "shooting lazers from their eyes" that will destroy the game.
While those hacks may indeed be a nuisance for those directly impacted... they don't really have any long-lasting impact on the game itself. They are also very easy to detect and report said player.
On the other hand:
it's the hackers hidden away in a Clan's city duping gold by the hundreds of thousands...
or, leveling up their Clan's skills overnight...
or, auotaim hacks...
or, auto-assist hacks...
or, any other hidden and nefarious hacks they have managed to find.
Those are the hackers that will impact the game the most. The hackers that you blatantly see using hacks aren't the problem... as they obviously don't have the intelligence to be of any real danger to the game.
What the obvious hacks do show is that there is indeed a problem with the game design as it is currently implemented. The sooner that Aventurine gets to the root cause of these hacks being possible the better.
If they can stamp out the root cause soon it won't be too much of a problem. If they let it fester and go un-patched for a longer period... it will most definitely lead to a collapsed economy at best... a collapsed game at worst.

If you don't see the long term damage this will cause, then enjoy Darkfall while it last.
