I played the Darkfall account page minigame 3 days in a row and I'm fed up with that garbage. My time is to good for a developer of their calibur.
I'm setting up the game now and reubing tonight. This week populations have reached 1800+ on normal, 800+ on classic, and 200+ on coop. Back to my old favorite world 
If everyone who "wished daoc was like it used to be" resubed... the game would be.

Yup, been downloading the xpacks all afternoon. (They have the worst download system ever, lol...)
I'll be resubbing tonight. Shame though, I JUST resubbed to AoC a few days ago... Played it for a few days, remembered how boring it was... And here I am back to good old DAOC.
Still unsure whether Im going to go Classic or normal. Last few times I played were classic, but the truth is, I never even really bothered with the TOA stuff. Might give it a go now...will be like playing a completely new game. Unfortunately none of my 50s are on Devon. Ah well, a fresh start.
I'm surprised at how many resub posts I've been seeing lately though.
I'm thinking I might try Devon too. What realm/class you thinking about playing? I'd be up for grouping through some of the needless levels

Ya let's do it. Favourite realm was always Mid, wouldn't mind it. But then again, they seem to be hurting pretty bad... Easier to group and such with Albs.
Not sure what I'll even be playing.
I'd have rolled a new shadowblade (favourite class), but also would like to play as healer. Something for groups, lol.

On the herald,its showing 1006 worldwide (was about 2300 last night) but these are for the US. The amount of players for GOA europe is always 0..does that mean that unless youre from the US youre screwed? or can anyone sub and play on whatever servers they please?
DAoC is one of the few games I wish I could fire back up and enjoy; but like a moron, I deleted my character when I quit a couple months after Darkness Falls was introduced. Self-inflicted permadeath has a way of making games less appealing to somebody who rarely levels up more than one character.
He was the only character in any MMORPG I ever regret deleting. I still have screenshots of him.

This only means they didn't change their coding, GOA changed there something and that's why the numbers aren't shown anymore. However we do have something about 3000 players in EU. German-Cluster got most of them. No worries we're still alive eventhough we had to face so much crap but I guess people love DAoC too much.
I just bought 3 accounts for me and my two kids to play. I did my part.
Having a blast on the classic cluster btw. We definitely need more population though.

I like the norse style of Midgard. Is it active on classic? If I chose normal servers, which of the servers are most active for Midgard?

Downside is I really want to play an archer (for my His202 class I wrote a paper on the English longbow and been looking for archery ever since), and from what I hear archer classes are OMG everywhere. So, sorry for adding to the population problem.

Umm......can we please have DF occasionally, alb has had it almost the entire time I've been back. I need some armor upgrades desperately.

Gotta say this thread has injected a dose of excitement and nostalgia for the beloved DAoC..... I'm in; resubbing today. I'm having a blast with WAR but still miss the DAoC. Glory days I guess. Anyways... set 'em up again.
I have been waiting for Origins to resub, but it looks like that is a long way off. I'd like to start over on the classic cluster but the low population worries me. I remember always needing a group to level in this game, is that still the case? Healers in particular were very bad soloers. Tanks were a bit slow at it also. It's been a few years since i played so i'm not really up to date with all the changes.
One of my favorite things about this game were the battlegrounds. Do these still get used at all? Thanks in advance for any info.
The population on the classic cluster isn't great right now, but the leveling speed has been increased a lot, so you can solo up fairly quickly. I am leveling so fast now that I can't keep up armor-wise. My armor is always green with a few blues cause I level faster then I can make new armor. The lack of good armor doesn't seem to be holding me back, so I'm not worrying about it. ha
I don't know about the battlegrounds. I haven't tried them yet. There does seem to be a lot of pvp going on in the frontiers though.
My suggestion is to try the free 14 day trial. If you enjoy it after the 14 days then keep going. If not, then cancel. Won't cost you anything.
