Did you guys listen to what the first draft of the script is like? Man that was bad. Sounds like another cheesy Hollywood B-movie that is going to be a 100% failure.
Maybe they could get Gaute to play Conan and Erling Ellingsen to play his female companion?

Pretty sure he doesn't Sev. Sounds like there will be a lot of CGI so I assume will have a decent buget. Lets hope the casting is good.

There is no actor alive that can do what Arnold did. He's acting was terrible but he's screen presence is amazing.
No matter who they choose, the public won't accept it because he's not Arnold, and the movie will be an even bigger failure than the game.
Russel Crow on steroids might be a good choice but first you need to..
1. Put him on steroids
2. Convince him to do a B-movie with a cheecy script

Nope. What you are talking about is what happened with AoC. In the movie business failure in defined differently. Movie fails when people are not interested enough to go see it. And this is what most likely will happen with the Conan movie.
I just hope nobody at Funcom has anything to do with this movie because that would guarantee failure.
75 + years of Lore history created by the "Father of Sword and Sorcery" a massive film budget based on that well known lore is surely going to get people to go see it whether the film is good or bad.
Solomon Kane will come first and if that is good and it looks like it will be ok, will be even more worthy screen time from the most well known fantasy author.
No idea how a straight to DvD movie will help sales of AoC, which was hinted at before. I liked Arnold's conan movies, they were pretty much the only fantasy RPGish type movies I liked, but it seems like this movie keeps cutting corners and its budget to go lower than B. Heck they even scrapped the original conan director who offered to do it.
Oh well, hmm we should start throwing around ideas like they did for that snakes on a plane movie, it couldn't hurt this title. Though it does make sense and I feel embarased because normaly I avoid video games trying to cash in on blockbusters, this time I got duped by a VG trying to cash in on a direct to DvD movie, my bad.

People who have read and enjoyed the Conan Books/lore, probably didnt appreciate Arnolds interpretation of Conan, I hope they didnt, because Arnold was plain awful. Playing Conan as a dumb brute = fail, big time.
If this movie is set in Conans older years, get Vladimir Kulich (Buliwyf character in the 13th warrior movie), he has Conan's size and he can act. Picture below.

I don't see him as a leading man material. Also he's a "nobody" and they need a name.
Russell Crowe would be perfect. He has that charisma Conan needs. He should do the same thing he did on Gladiator. Steroids would help like the other poster suggested.
