Server and Clusters. Help me pick one

Ok, I dont know where I should roll.  I dont think I understand what is being displayed on the server selection screen on the launcher.

I see several servers with identicle populations.  Im assuming the servers with matching pops are actually showing a collective population across the cluster.  So, servers lancelot, galahad and morgan dont actually have 1100+ players on each server.. theres 1100+ on the Devon cluster which is a combination of many servers?

*edit* also, character names.  Are they unique per server or cluster?  I noticed a very uncommon name being used across every server I tried on the Devon cluster.  Was it not that uncommon after all or what?

how do I know how many players are on one server such as Lancelot, or Morgan?  Could one of you take a minute to break this confusion down for me so I can roll a character?  Thanks!

If you want to know the up to the minute population count just go over to The Camelot Herald

On the right hand side as you scroll down a bit you will see a list of servers, their respective clusters and the population numbers next to them.  As for your name, I don't really know.  Maybe you're using some sort of symbols in it that are not allowed and are just getting a default message of unavailability?  I'm not sure on this one.  Sorry I can't be of any more help.  I've never really had this problem but then again I've not played for more then a year now and they might have put stuff in that I'm not aware of.
