I beta tested AoC and played 2 months after launch and gave up. AoC is an instanced world that makes for a very diferent dynamics on politics and power war than a open world. Its not my taste thats the main reason i left it. It was the biggest dissapointment i got in all the time playing MMORPGS.

Darkfall is open in that sense but i think it's still a game that needs a lot of improuvement, will see in several months how it evolves. I'm not going to risk another frustration like in AoC.

At current moment both games don't reach to get the level i want for my MMORPG. I know it is just me.

these videos are jokes. not to be taken serious. DFO isn't even HD format. and AoC is in all it's glory. The VS battle is totaly unfair. If i do buy the game I'll do a true comparison of them both.

Well, Vids like this does provide an increadibly amount of truth though. I know percetly well now why I will not get DF. I can not play something as choppy as that. A MUD has better apeal to me than DF graphics.

Why is the AoC fanbase so scared of Darkfall?

Most Darkfall players dont give a crap about AoC even though it looks much better. We need something else, but I dont see DF fanbois making crappy AoC vids to compare to Awesome DF vids....we dont give a damn dude

These videos are a weak trolling attempt by a known Age of Conan fanboi.

AoC fans and employees are scared of Darkfall which is why we have seen these kinds of threads and will see more of them in the near future.

Tbh. I played AoC at launch, I dont care how many improvements funcom's made since release.

I'm not falling for that shit again.

WoW nerds beware, I come equipped with lazers and anti-QQ missiles. If you mess with me, I will $%£@ you.

lol what a big joke. even the crappiest made noob video of AoC can kick any darkfall footage to the ground. Looking at your nick with a -df and "awesome df vids", you are just another df fanboi who just cant accept that fact.

I have played Closed beta in both games, Played AOC for 8 months with hardcoreguild did alot of PVE and PVP. and currenlty playing DF with oldtimer UO guild.

PVP and Battles - DF wins

In AOC PVP was almost useless and boring, 1shotting players was so easy with my barb i barely did any pvp since it was so easy. In the instanced battles it became more fun but with a team of ranged AOE and you could control the hole battlefield without even having players come near you. In DF the PVP is alot diffrent where timing and movement and stamina usage is very important, Here the big battles are really crazy where you have to engage your oppeents with melee.

Grafics, animation, Sound - AOC wins

Cant deny the fact AOC is the best grafic heavvy game with very good sound and animations, most people cant play it tho because of that, Had several friends buying the game and quitting cus their comps dident have what was needed.

    PVE, RaidPVE - DF Wins

During my 8 months barely no epic dungeon worked, Everyone was bugged in some way. PVE was so easy you toy could bring a level 20 to level 80 area with a friend and grind you to level 80 within a week. Quests in AOC was plenty of at lowlevel became scarse later on, DF barely has no questsa at all. The PVE in DF is very hard, My guild is at a remote island and all the mobs on it are group or raid mobs, then again we are not yet skilled enough to beat them solo but i guess some will be soloble later on.

    Gamefealing - DF wins

Never had so much fun in a game EVER as i have in DF, the full loot system makes the gamefealing 100% more fun but would be fun even without it. in AOC i enjoyed my time but all the zoning, bugged dungeons and when 90% of the playerbase leaves it really became a crappy game, My guild in AOC had 150 members before launch but only 2 of its original members left when i quit.

Launch issues, client and server stability and bugs - DF wins

DF had its account problems but i bought mine on first day, Client is rocksolid, Server is stable as hell. first week only 2 days with server lag and such issues.

AOC - Lagfest first weeks with bugs in every aspect of the game, My character was stuck 4 days in launchweek. client unstable. Servers was very unstable except newbie area where they seemed to have put all effort in to make the game playble but after that it was just a nightmare.

Sounds to me like your either a DF fanboi or not being honest.

PVE/Raid   AOC wins hands down there is none to date in DF

GameFeeling. Your joking. the clunky melee and magic is horrid in DF. IT has great potential when they fix it. AOC has a much better feeling combat system, albeit with a higher learning curve.

Then the lagfest comment for AOC while true is still better than not being able to log in for three days from servers being jacked up!

I'm not trying to say DF is a bad game. AOC had a bad launch, but it is still a better game overall at launch than DF. Can DF be great?? SURE!!! but it needs some overhauling and a good haxxor shield.

Comparing these two games is not fair for either game.  They appeal to different genres. For PvP I like AOC for now, but it has had time to fix its problems. DF has not had that luxury.

Mdkman can't say jack. He played the game in BETA form. Tell him to play AoC today, get to lvl 80. Do some content, then go to DFO and do your thing for about the same amount of time then post here.

I'll even let you wait however long it's been since launch of AoC to do your review on DFO.

Nobody can rate a MMO at launch. Especialy when they run out of unding and have to do payed beta launch.

Both AoC and DFO had to do that.

As for my AoC launch, well other then the game being unoptimized it was fine.

As for DFO launch, well it's been about 2weeks and i can't even buy it.

the fact that i can't even buy the game makes me not want to play, because when i do actualy get to play I'll be camped until I either grind past it or just leave.

Please don't take my videos serious. Please play what you want and what makes You happy.

AoC and Darkfall are simply two very different games.

I, personally, am having more fun in Darkfall than I ever had in AoC.

    (I played 2 tunes to 80, btw...)...

You always have more fun in the game you just started to play otherwise you would stick with AoC :)

We must have played on different servers or something... Ever since the "Early Launch" Age of Conan servers were super stable, only going down for scheduled downtime in the evening (unlike DFO server which crashed all the time). AoC client was also 100% stable. The only problem was that the game wasn't what people expected (lacking content or features). AoC launch was much, much better than Darkfall's. The only good thing that I have to say for DFO's launch is that the Darkfall client was indeed very stable and didn't crash or anything.

Good sides of Age of Conan:

    • Excellent graphics
    • Awesome soundtracks and sound effects (uncomparable to DFO's)
    • High production value (cinematics, voice acted quests, solo quest line, etc.)
    • Interesting melee system (combos, now much improved since launch)
    • A proper trading system (tradehouses)
    • A proper chatting system (you can choose what messages you want to be displayed on your chat tabs, and what combat info; also has floating text)

    Good sides of Darkfall:

    • Seamless world (best part of the game for me personally)
    • Full loot PvP (the only reason that keeps 95% of Darkfall playerbase playing the game)

Darkfall's graphics aren't much, but they're enough I believe. Sound on the other hand needs a lot of work.
