See this is why you should fear Islam, in fact most religions and the people behind them. OMG...but guess what? Is it OK for these very people that are trying to get this passed to say bad things about other religions in their countries? Frak no! I dare you to try to take a bible into Saudi Arabia. Go ahead...just try. Take it out as you pass through customs. They'll snatch it up and then it'll be burned. Yea...that is right...burned. However, if you touch the Koran wrong or handle it improperly...OMG...Muslims come unglued. People can try to pursuade me all they wish to and try to convence me that Islam is not a bad religion, but the reality says different.
Don't think I just dislike Islam either...because I dislike all forms of religion. They are out to do one thing. To control people through fear.

Saudi Islam takes a very strict interpretation of their religion that's all. When you travel to the country you know a priory that christianity and indeed any other religion is forbidden and you only are allowed to practice different faiths in private. No religion is "bad", people that follow it though is another thing entirely:P

Apart from the fact that you will just strengthen their resolve you will need to change the whole political/social structure of a society anyway to actually achieve such a law to be passed.

Religion is not the cause, it is the people desiring power that is the cause. Religion has been used as a tool to help control power, but even without religion, there will be another form of belief to be used, be it nationalism, ethnicity, etc. Religion just makes this easier as religion is very common in the world and deals with the afterlife, while the others do not.
Such a measure as this one I believe will be vetoed. I believe primarily not because of the freedom of speech (although that is how it will be justified), but because of any one nation which attacks, invades or occupies another muslim country will be charged with war crimes.
Example (PR Machine at work): The aggressive US has an athestic government and bombed the peace loving holy nation of N. Under this UN Resolution we charge the US with War Crimes for attacking the religion of Islam.
