    Awful !

It was like watching pocorn cook as they went up and down that lift. All that jumping up and down. Come on guys time to admit combat is not revolutionary... the jokes gone too far.

    /sigh

more importantly, for a single server, is it me, or was the city dead, not many players there.

I don't think anyone posting here has claimed the combat was revolutionary.

The game is great, if you're looking for what I'm looking for.

    Sandbox
    PvP
    Cities
    Boats
    1st person archery
    non-instanced world

The combat is fun, even if it's a bit clunky. It takes more concentration than WoW for sure, and I think more than any other MMO. It's not up there with some single player games for responsiveness, but we're not playing a single player game. It's a good mix between twitch and the mental style of MMO's.

So after trolling this forum for years...promising us DF was a scam or at the very least vaporware and anyone who believed in it were idiots....now you still show your face and bash the game.

    Awsome =)

    Jealously is so ugly.

"If people were dismissing it, then they wouldn't be talking about it. The well-meaning gamers root for efforts that try to raise the bar. So who's left? It's so easy being a skeptic." -Tasos

weird, more concentration than wow?  seriously?  to run up and stand next to some dude and just hit him repeatedly with a pokey stick?

    twitch and mental styles?

12-15 people ran for 3 minutes... get on a lift and eventually kill a dwarf WHILE managing to kill 2 or 3 of their own part, get to the top of the lift, see more dwarves and then run like girls back onto the lift (seems like half fell to their deaths in this action), and just steadily die due to... oh yeah the complexity of not being able to aim at a proper target and instead just ganking each other.

brilliant!   have not seen the likes of this combat since playing war outside as a child.

could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

    Jealously is so ugly.

are you familiar with the term fag?  in some places it means cigarette, in some places homosexual... many meanings, one word.

easy enough concept to grasp for a child even.  yes?

    vaporware...

Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product. The term implies unwarranted optimism, an as yet unannounced abandonment of a project, or sometimes even deception; that is, it may imply that the announcer knows that product development is in too early a stage to support responsible statements about its completion date, feature set, or even feasibility. However, most vaporware would not be considered a hoax since the makers have a genuine intention to create their product, even if it ultimately never materializes. Products with unspecified release dates or long development times that outwardly demonstrate regular, verifiable progress in production are not normally labelled vaporware.

    Falls short of expectations

This category refers particularly to products that may not be inherently flawed or defective, but rather fail to fulfill the high expectations of the consumers who have been subjected to aggressive marketing campaigns and constant hype from either the company itself or the media who reported about it in the period leading to release. Delays on such products have been known to inflate to months and even years, creating often unrealistic expectations of the final version once it eventually reaches store shelves.

The biggest example of this is the computer game Daikatana, which was announced in 1997 but did not ship until 2000. Many who had waited felt the gameplay was disappointing. Ultima IX was released to savage reviews in 1999, due to numerous bugs, unbalanced gameplay and high system requirements.

many more definitions for the term exist.   does one HAVE to always regard a fag as a cigarrette?  does one ALWAYS have to regard a fag as a homosexual?  or, are both terms used and correct, in different regions?   these are not ground breaking concepts.

to take just a part of a quote "do unto others" out of context -- do unto others means i should go harm people; instead of in context "do unto others as you would have them do unto you"; means you're too stupid to understand the words, have a very limited level of education, or are simply a liar.

isn't that what we told all you darkfall trolls for the past year as you incessantly spammed the internet with darkfall stupidity?

way to convince people that those horrid videos are of a game that was released in the past 5 years though.   seriously, this game was next gen in 1999, or MAYBE 2000....
