yeah, you can connect from a proxy

Ok, so I think enough mean things have been said about acclaim to get the point across. You're not happy. Deep breaths, people.

I was able to give the game a try on the European servers by doing this:

First I downloaded and patched the client. Get it here.

Then I did this to setup a proxy. Basically just do what it says and connect to a German server. (And um, connect to Spellborn and not Second Life.)

Then I googled "Chronicles of Spellborn" and everything came up in that funky German-Speak (Just kidding,Germans). At that point I knew everything was working right.

Then I googled "Chronicles of Spellborn English" created an account and connected to the game.

I hope nobody objects to me posting this stuff? It seems like an all-around better solution than mailing bags of poo to Acclaim.

Things will probably lag a bit on a proxy so this really is a temporary solution just to preview the game.

You surely can do this but you will not have to for long since beta has been released and in just a few days many people will be invited. So it will be really short term. Personally I think you will see good service provided by Acclaim after launch. Capacity to thier servers I think will be very good (5 new servers for 1 world  just in beta) and new mods are being added along with GM's to deal with problems. So far the forums will get you an answer in a few mins because they are active.
