that you like/love to play? Past tense or present. Your choice.

This thread may have been made several times, but I wasn't available ;] I'd like to see what other people likes. Who knows I may have missed out some games I'd like to try out. Maybe not, but who knows.. :P

Could you state why you like it/them too?

Disclaimer: This is based on your preferences, opinions and feelings towards those games you played/play. Please do not judge upon others. Pretty please with cherry on top?

The three games that I actually have managed to get addicted to are Runescape, GW and WoW.  I'd say the funnest MMO experience I've ever had is playing Runescape.  I guess this could be because it was my first experience with MMOs, and at the time all my friends played it so we spent all the time after school messing around in it.  But it's not only that there is so much to do and you're completely free to go anywhere you're never bored.  It involved a huge amount of mindless grinding but I loved that at the time because I just chilled out and listened to music and got on with it - it wasn't the grinding that I enjoyed but the satisfaction for achieving goals and beating my friends levels.

GW was also great fun and I mainly got really into the PvP in that game.  I just thought the skills were really good in that game because you could come up with countless builds and PvP was always dominated by builds and counter builds.  Very tactical.  I didn't like the fact that it was all instanced and that you didn't have a whole world to explore, and that there was nothing to do but fighting (no professions).  That's why I went to WoW after that.  I had great fun on WoW, mainly because I found an awesome guild there (and that's what kept me playing way longer than I would have).  What I really didn't like in that game was the way you feel completely rushed through it and are always competing to keep your level going up, I also hated the instances in it because I started to become quite a casual player and too much time was involved in doing them.  But then you had to do them to get the gear at those later levels.  So I ended up getting really frustrated by it.

After those I've tried numerous other games for a few weeks to a month but just can't get into them.

All of these games I've tried to get back into, and it's nicer than starting on a new game because I know what's what.  But all of them I've just lost interest after a month or 2 - no specific reason.

    What about you?

Oh and you asked for 5.  Out of the others I've tried I'd say EQ2 and UO were good.  But I really don't have a proper opinion on these because I didn't play them for more than a couple of months.

    Playing: Xsyon.

Ultima Online, EVE Online, Combat Arms, Asheron's Call and LOTRO

UO and EVE for the PVP, ability to custom tailor my character to my playstyle (rhather than have to fit it within the confines of a class restriction), and the ability to have an impact on the game world.

Combat Arms for the twitchy PvP and non-stop action.

AC for endless options, regular new content additions, and ability to custom tailor my character.

LOTRO because collecting achievements and titles is a relaxing and fun experience for me.

I canceled UO in December after about a decade of playing it, but it was one of the most engaging and entertaining experiences that I ever had in online gaming.

#1) Pre-NGE SWG....though long gone, still my favorite.

#2) EVE - harsh, unforgiving universe, TOTAL sandbox, do whatever you want any way you want, beautiful graphics, amazing dev support

#3) LOTRO - Beautiful graphics, amazing storyline and quests, though linear, it is very immersive

#4) Everquest 2 - Great PVE, tons of different classes, never run out of things to do in that game between quests, achievements, exploration, housing, etc

#5) WAR - while lacking in many departments, especially PVE, the pvp is fun and addictive.

My top 5 list in order.

    1.  CoV - still playing

    - Best travel powers out of any MMO

    - How old is it?  And I can still find a group any time.

    - I can have two builds now for one char - every pvp/pve MMO should do this

    2.  WAR - I like scenarios - what can I say.

  • robertbrobertb Member UncommonPosts: 684

Recent games (ie. the past 4 or 5 years).

    1. Darkfall - Love it, sorry.

    2. EVE Online - One of the best games ever made and still getting better, imo.

    3. WOW - Seriously, I liked the raiding.

    4. LOTRO - Beautiful game, a bit light, but nice.

    5. Vanguard - a very good game, but sadly, kinda deserted.

1 .asherons call,  makeing the characters i want. put exp into the skills i want and changing them when needed, housing and market. just loved it played from 2000 till 2003  had 4 accounts. now have 6 freinds gave me their's 2 yrs ago when i went back for a few months

    2. everquest 1 from 2003 till 2007  the game is so endless so many things to do i have 6 accounts and not one character past lvl 54, i made every class and almost every race/class all to lvl 30. i 6 boxed my own groups in 2007 as pop dropped and hard to find groups late night.

    3. world of warcraft  , liked mainly because of the addon, plugins that helped the game go fast. but got boring quick

    4. warhammer online  the best pvp ,relm vs relm, i like the classes and play many of them.

    5. eve online  , currently playing 4 accounts. addicing  have my own mining fleet so money coming fast and now with the new skill que, just made it that much more fun.  best of all you can play it without having to pay much attention. i mine and watch tv or movies. and even play xbox 360 . i was playing warhammer at same time but i found warhammer would crash once and a while while i alt tabed out to check on fleet. worth the money but you have to want to play it for years cus of the skill training.

Looking forword to Darkfall. being like asheron's call, but more to it. we'll see if i add it to my 5 fav games, oh and runes of magic kinda fun for a free game, like wow but with houses and dual class system

1: DAoC - Most fun i've had in an MMO, played it more or less from the start until ToA came out but that kinda killed it for me and i left a few months after, have tried to go back twice but could never recapture the feeling i had for the game originally.  The way the PvP worked out in terms of both player combat, the RvR system and  the keep/realm layout was just great, felt you were part of the epic on going battle and that you could do your part to help out.

2:SWG (Pre-CU) - Amazing fun, so much to do and see and all that great customisation! played half my time as a BH the other half as various crafting professions, was a little disappointed with the PvP but the rest of the game was great until all the changes started to take place.  Hung around after CU but NGE was the last straw.

3:WWII Online - I'm a history buff and graduate, i've always been fascinated with this period of history and as a result it was only natural for me to pick this title up and play it.  Really do enjoy the game in bursts of 1-2 months then put it down for the same period and go back to it.  Sure the game has its fair share of problems but i think my love of the history and realism let me see past all this.  Currently not playing but will go back in a month or so.

4:LOTRO - The game world looks stunning, and feels authentic to me, really felt like what you'd read about in the book.  Played for a couple of months but eventually lost interest, just not enough innovation over previous titles, i consider PvP to be central to my gamin experience and I just didn't like the idea of monsterplay, my friends left and so did I not long after.

5:Planetside - The first battle i found myself in was a huge offensive which surged through a forest, swamp and then into an enemy facility.  It was an inch by inch battle, slowly pushing the enemy back, i took cover behind a cluster of boulders, looked to my left and saw tracer rounds, explosions and advancing infantry as far as the draw distance permitted, again to my left, tanks surged forward amid a hail of lead supported by ground attack air units.  This was an awesome game for the first month but sadly it just got too repetitive for me after this period, you get used to the battles, you know their outcomes and routines before they're over, could have been a great game if there was more depth.

    Playing: Nothing
Retired: Runescape, DAoC, SWG, Planetside, Guild Wars, WoW, EVE, Battleground Europe, LOTRO, AoC, WAR.
    Tried: Pretty much everything!

For me.. Gee. It's a hard decision because I'm quite easily pleased (.. not in that way this time, you pervs ;P)

    1. World of Warcraft - My boyfriend introduced this to me a long time ago. It was my first mmorpg to ever experience. I don't know how many times it has brought me back, though. The communities, the conversations, the friendships, the families, the raids, the runs, the quests (it's so repetitive, but it kills time nonetheless), the professions(I don't recall any other games that gives a lot of crafting choices excluding EQII) Despite the trolls'  constant bitchin' on channels, the game is rewarding and it could make you feel good after reaching your goals on some certain things in the game. It keeps me busy! :P

    2. Star Wars Galaxies - I'm a big fan of Star Wars. No fan of Star Trek (Sorry, folks :P) The content is very interesting, the storylines were great, the community was quite helpful to a certain extent.. I enjoyed playing a Jedi and an entertainer. Collecting clothes and decorating the houses were fun -- but, the flight missions frustrated me lol. I only had gotten past that by having the bf with me, haha. I miss the game but, I was subscribed to WoW so I had to cancel it.. being unable to do both at the same time. Oh well.

    3. Rohan - Gorgeous characters!! The outfits too, especially the dresses were so fucking awesome! The skills were quite weird to adjust to.. but a fun game to play. Tough to level up, but patience is a virtue anyway.

    4. Tabula Rasa -- WHY DID IT HAVE TO END?! It was such a blast! =[ The combat system was so challenging yet so MUCH FUN!  I wasn't really a fan of shooting AT anything but, this gave me a different perspective though. Dying the armors and stuff makes it fun too. I may sound cheesy but little things do count too. ;] I miss Tabula Rasa, really. I always felt like my eyes were gonna pop out after the gameplay because it's always on go go go go..go there, go.. move away, blah blah. Move fast, get out of the way.. kinda of thing lol.

    5. Wizard101 - Yes. I said it. It's so fucking cute and the effects are so gorgeous to see. It may be a family-oriented game, cheap but the graphics are just so spectacular. You gotta see it for yourself. My son, the bf and I enjoy playing this together =] Got to level 27, yay!

Ok well since my loving darling girlfriend posted this thread guess I'll throw my two cents in as well.

    1. WoW - I guess i'm part of a group of players who doesnt mind doing certian content over and over.  I love doing instances (WoW does it the best IMO) and raids (rather then having to have a sheer large amount of people to down something, its stratagy) and bonds i've made with people (friends and gotten family to play with me as well, Yes i'm 24 y/o and play wow with my mom and little brother).

    2. Atlantica - I love turn based combat, its fun and amusing. Graphics are pretty awesome for a f2p and the cash shop sells stuff you dont have to have to be competitive.

    3. Wizard 101 - Great family game, has some humor for all ages, and easy to get the hang of. Only thing i dont dig about it is the lack of a party system. That's just me though.

    4. EQ Release til 2007 - Some of the expansions were patches for bugs and issues that needed to be fixed in the first place, but the game was solid and fun. My first mmo here.

and last but not least 5. SWG - I never played before the huge nerf to the game, but none the less it was fun, and yet challanging. I loved being able to use random crap dropped in the game to decorate my house that i could put just about anywhere.

pardon my crappy spelling and grammer in some places please lol.

    *edit*

    Desided to add 1 more:

    6.  Tabula Rasa - Not many games like this one, and reguardless of the 'issues' I suffered playing it some times, it was a fun and amazing game that me and my GF loved to play.

Everquest - Nothing can top the original 3D MMO.  From accidentally attacking a guard while trying to Hail for the first time, to drowning in Qeynos because swimming in an MMO at that time was like something unheard of.  Even at the end, the community was still pretty cool.  And this was a truly hardcore level of MMO.  Find another MMO where you spend literally HOURS in a group, just killing monsters over and over again, only to die ONCE, and have all the experience you gained, and more, get flushed away.   It was frustrating at the time, but the tolerance of the system was because it was the best, and only one doing it, so you really had no choice but to accept it and grind away.

World of Warcraft - I played this longer than any MMO before.  I had never even played a warcraft game before, but that's how cool it was, that's how much it just completely drew you in.  When the game first launched, it was discovery, and exploration, and just so much fun I couldn't wait to get home and play it.  The game runs like a dream, even on crummy computers, without making the graphics look too underwhelming.  In fact, many locations are just downright gorgeous.  With that being said, the game has degraded into a cesspool.  While WotLK has given us some truly breathtaking environments, and some novel new quest ideas, the fact remains:  WoW's community is GARBAGE.  And what's left of the game has been turned into a giant math problem and number crunch, thanks to theorycrafters who have answered the math problem with a single resounding answer:  If you don't have the best gear in the game, you're not worth talking to.

Warhammer Online - I must say, I bought this right at release, and I still play it from time to time.  WAR takes the "static race-war" concept to a new height, where you feel like both sides actually hate each other.  It's hard to imagine a Tauren mercilessly tearing apart a Night Elf.  Sorry, but the race war in WoW is stupid, and not believable.  But I can definitely see a Greenskin splitting a goody two shoes high elf in half with a giant axe.  The environments are also pretty cool, but what really sells this game for me is the PvP.  And I HATE PvP in MMOs.  But for some reason, this game makes it feel natural, and fun, and it's the only game where I can tolerate lengthy PvP campaigns.  Also, for a game not focused on PvE, public quests are one of the coolest things ever done in ANY MMO, and I would love to see it in future MMOs.

Vanguard - One of the main things I liked about Vanguard was how vast and detailed it was.  Unfortunately, this is also one of the things that eventually made me stop playing it.  Expansive is fine, but when it takes 40 minutes just to find the one person you need in a giant metropolis of a city, that gets a little tiresome.  There are too many people to talk to for everything.  As far as graphics, the models are ok, the jumping animations are pretty bad, and let's face it... they're all the same model with a bit different height, face, and head.  But they all stand the same way, fight the same way, and cast the same way.  That's usually the drawback to MMOs with 15-20 race/class choices.  it didn't take long for me to realize that this was just another grind fest, and after about 20 levels, I realized that it was just kill/gather quests over and over again, except with absurd difficulty.  And I figured if I was going to be bored with generic quests, I might as well just go back and play WoW.

LOTRO - This is the game I'm currently playing, and it has a handful of things that other MMOs don't, but for the most part is still your standard fare.  However there are a few big selling points for me.  Number one is the music system.  This in and of itself could be an entire game, and it really heightens the immersion factor.  Also the fishing is very relaxing, and doesn't require an annoying twitch mechanic like WoW does.  Finally, the almost complete absence of PvP.  PvP in just about all MMOs comes across as malicious and hateful.  It's designed to do this.  In an FPS game, you have guns, you're supposed to be killing people.  In MMOs, it's just like this wrench thrown into what should be a relaxing and fun experience, designed so people who are unhappy in RL can take it out on other players, and then spam them with ignorant emotes.  Thankfully, LOTRO is almost devoid of PvP, and the only PvP it has is well thought out, putting you in the role of a monster, which is the only thing that should be attacking players.

Anyway, that's my two cents.  Think of it what you will.

Science flies people to the moon. Religion flies people into buildings.

    1. Guild Wars

    - plays like a mmo to me, regardless of what others say

    - love the dual classes and PVE missions

    2. Everquest 2

    - similar to WOW but I prefer it largely because of  the classes and mentoring system

    3. World of Warcraft

    - gets alot of heat but its a good solo PVE mmo, until you reach level cap

    4. Everquest

    - played the game for 5 years since 1999 but no longer have interest in it

  • paulscottpaulscott Member Posts: 5,613

Wurmonline - Game I played for the longest the only real mmo "GAME" that is eligiable for this sites requirements(the whole graphical thing that is still a fully player controlled world.   It even puts EvE and Darkfall to shame after you look at aspects like being able to build your house/town/outpost anywhere(literally) on the map amoung a few other touches.

Guildwars - A class based game where it actually made sense to go class based.   This should be a staple for ANY mmo or even gamer.

Runescape - what can I say I'm not the UO hardcore guy I started on this game when I was a kid.   It has some interesting design decisions in that permemently altered how I was going to play MMOs(for great sandbox) from those decisions in the game.

Mabinogi - sillily enough what I'm playing now.  Biggest laugh in the face to wester MMO developers because an Asian F2P low quality grind endgameless budgetless bad graphic sadist maoistic game gets away from the holy trinity when the best aspect of the game is raiding, while they(our developers) can't imagine a game that is otherwise(holy trinity).

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

    1.  Guild Wars

Take the common problems with typical MMORPGs (PvP dominated by level/gear, too much time running back and forth, large blocks of real-life time required, lengthy downtime between battles, combat where you spam only a few skills, a major pain or even impossible to respec, can't find a good group, patches are a pain, narrow level ranges to do content, subdivided playerbase so you can't play with most people, too long to level alts, heavily grindy endgame, incoherent storyline, mobs respawn on top of you, kill stealing, ninja looting, aggro system, gold farmer harassment, etc.), and fix nearly all of them.  In a single game.  And without creating a bunch of other glaring problems to compensate.  For a game to manage to do that is extremely rare.

    2.  Infantry

Far and away the best PvP ever made, at least in its heyday from late 2000 through early 2002.  PvP is won neither by higher levels, better gear, nor superior numbers.  It's also the nearest to being completely bug-free that I've seen in a commercial online game.  Seriously:  it was more polished than WoW.  It's an MMO, but it's not an MMORPG.  I don't care.  It was a great game.

    3.  A Tale in the Desert

The gold standard for crafting.  Your character could learn how to be really good at everything, but you can't, because you lack the player skills.  There simply isn't time for one single player to properly learn how to do everything, even if he were to be able to buy a character off Ebay with all skills maxed.  It's that deep.

    4.  Puzzle Pirates

It's all player skill, not character skill.  It has a good trading system and a reasonably deep economy.  The various puzzles for crafting and ship operation add a good deal of variety to the game.

    5.  Wizard101

Do one thing, and do it well.  That's better than doing a lot of things, and being mediocre at all of them.  The turn-based combat is deeper than you'd expect, and the game tries very hard to avoid grinding.  You know how in some games, when you need to get some particular drop for a quest, and it can take dozens of mobs to get it?  Wizard101 says, well, you've killed 8 and it hasn't dropped for you yet, so we'll just say that the eighth mob did, indeed, drop what you were after.

    1.  CoH/V

Loved this game.  Played on and off for 4 years.  Loved the costumes, travel powers, grouping, and the feeling of being a true hero/villian.

    2. LotRO

Playing this now and has become my new addiction.  Love the crafting and the lore.  The world is so beautiful.  Every once in a while I find myself standing on a hill watching the son come up over the horizon.  This is pretty much I envisioned Tolkien's world.

    3. Wizard 101

True.  This is aimed toward children, but the gameplay and graphics (while not state-of-th-art) are great.  It was fun playing through the story line and seeing the different worlds.

There are others, but these are my three faves.

    1. CoX - I been playing off and on since beta of CoH. I love the character customization, the powers, the ease of finding groups. Something I can just jump right back into and pick up where I left with no issue.

    2. DAoC - My first true love, nothing else needs to be said.

    3. DDO - I enjoy the twitch combat, the dungeon crawling, the DM voice overs, and despite the fact many say it is a dying game, I have no issues EVER finding a group.

    4. LOTRO - I love Tolkien and this game gives me my dose of it.

    5. ShadowBane - Only game my brother and I could agree upon and was our way of keeping touch when we were on different continents. It has a special place in my heart

1- Phantasy Star Online - Dreamcast - my first ever MMO - still play MMOs with friends I made there.

2 - Ultima Online - My Phantasy Star friends introduced me to PC MMOs, I loved this game. Only closed the account on December 2008.

3- Star Wars Galaxies - Pre-cu - with old and new friends.

4- World of Warcraft - with old and new friends.

5- Lord of the Rings Online - Still love it. None of my old friends is there, but made new.

6- Age of Conan early 20 levels - untill my FPS droped to 8 outside instances, making it unplayable for me. Loved it, so it could be on a better spot, if I could even consider it an option.

Still playing Lord of The Rings Online.

Tried many other games, some famous, some F2P. None of them adicted me.

AC played hard for 4 years and been going back ever since.  Great community. I love the skill system and LOVE the pvp.

DAoC played hard for 4 years, tried going back once, but it just wasn't the same magic.  Love the RvR and love the community.  Also, it was just magical when you got a really good 8man in either pvp or xp grinding.

AO loved it, but didn't stick with it, My comp/connection couldn't handle the cities when the game came out.

Eve love it, but can't stick with it. i don't have the time anymore.  Love the sandbox, pvp and corp drama.

WoW enjoy the game but HATE the players.  Also hate that everything is cookie cutter.  Played for 2 years, and don't miss it at all.

Every other game I have tried just falls short of my love for AC and DAoC.

    1. Everquest 1 - My first mmo that I started playing in 2000 and fell in love with it. The community was great and the risk the game had really brought my emotions into the game. People seemed to have respect for one another and thier current locations. Always seeing a "Camp Check" in /ooc was nice and the /shout "Train to zone!" was always fun to crash. Good days...good days. I keep checking the eqplayer.com site to see when they are finally going to get that poll out for a new server. I'm definately gonna resub for a bit just to get onto that new server and group up like the old days.

    2. Everquest 2 - EQ2 just after launch would be my second choice for good times in an mmo. My fiance and I both got into the game and loved the lore playing off the original EQ and the change in graphics from EQ1 to EQ2 was amazing. This was the first game I've ever gone out and purchased computer upgrades for. Unfortunately my fiance and I took a break from the game to do a full remodel of a house we purchased and never got back into as much as we were during those launch days. My fiance and I are currently playing this game and having an "ok" time with it. She seems to have a pretty good time so I try to stick with it.

    3. LOTRO - Another wonderful game that I enjoyed during launch. I played a captain to fifty and ended up bored with the lack of end game content back then. I re-rolled a LM but still ran into the same problem. I've gone back and gave it another try with the Mines of Moria expansion but I just couldn't get back into the game. The new classes were "ok" but the starting areas are still the same as they were at launch. I probably won't resub to this game even though it was a good well polished game.

    4. World of Warcraft - The ease of leveling in this game made it enjoyable for me but not enough to stick around and deal with the horrid community. I played a rogue as my first toon to hit cap and a pally as my second. The quests were nice amusing twists from movies, new, or other games and the ability to jump into a BG was nice. I went back for both expansions and capped my rogue and pally once again with BC then the same old thing with WoTLK I played a DK to cap as well this time around. The Wintergrasp Keep scenario was fun the first few times but in my opinion the walls were too easy to break and made for quick matches. Bottom line here was "same old crap with a new level" so I bailed.

    5. Age of Conan - The fatalities, combat system, and amazing graphics made this game enjoyable for me. I never have been into the Conan style lore but the story in the game was pretty well done. I played for a while but got fed up with the game not being complete and the guild's city left waiting on a patch to finally put npc's in our city. The grinding out the same repeatable quests to get through those hell levels hurt a bit but only because it was such a solo based game. I left in the mid 60's and just recently resub'd to give it another shot.

Just figured while I was on the subject of my mmo history I'd throw in my biggest disappointments.

    1. Darkfall - I was one of the lucky ones (I suppose) that made it in on launch day. The synch problems were too funny to really get upset with and the servers being down on the second day was understandable. For an indy company they did an "ok" job on this game but it's just not my "cup o' tea". The servers are brought down without warning so you loose your mounts, the beautiful environment isn't populated enough for my taste, and it seems to be a macrofest. Right now there are too many problems with Darkfall for me to stick with it. I loved the ffa free loot pvp that they have going on but unfortunately that is all they have going for them right now in my opinion.

    2. Vanguard - My supposed "next EQ" launched a mess. I was able to play but my fiance's comp just couldn't handle the game. I played a Shamman to around lvl fourty before I threw in the towel. The world was beautiful but there were just way to many bugs for me to deal with. I went back a couple times and each time the game is better but the population is a problem.

    3. Warhammer Online - I got bored with the PvE in this game after rank 30 and the pvp scenarios were just the same thing over and over again. I left before they had the problems with the capped players doing open RvR and apparently experiencing horrible lag. I went back a few weeks before the launch of Darkfall to give me a bit of a "pvp fix" but the scenarios prior to rank 40 are dead and takes forever to get into. I was only able to take part in 3 scenarios in 2 days queued up all day while I was on (8+ hours each day). I'm sure the max level is different now but that doesn't do anything for the trip there.

    I'd say something like this:

    • Guild Wars. Best MMO I've ever played to this date. Best PvP, best PvE and theorycrafting friendly. You can't just zerg into PvP with your über hawt gear simply because all gear is the same (pretty much) and all that matters is your build/team and your skill as player.
    • Lord of the Ring. Good and fun. I played it like a year ago, but after the subscription ended I started playing other games. I've been considering picking it up and trying it again, only I've been quite broke lately.

Apart from those two games I've either played the game too little or don't like it.

LoTRO- gorgeous world and an over abundance of quests

Asherons Call- great clan system and excellent combat. Still miss my clan mates:(

WoW- smooth combat and so easy to play. LOve the Hunter's pets too!

Sorry but that's all I can list. I've played others but I only loved those 3!!

    1) DarkSpace
    2) GuildWars
    3) Everquest
    4) WarHammer Online
    5) Tabula Rasa

    Reasons:

    DarkSpace
I have been involved with this title for a number of years now, starting out as a newbie like everyone else, and ending up as one of the main developers and senior GM's. Obviously I love the game and the community, even though (like any title) it has it's share of issues.

    GuildWars
This game and it's development team deserve a lot of respect. For PvP it is probably one of the most balanced games out there, and has forced WoW to adapt. I loved the storyline for Prophecies, and have great memories of the early beta days, and the adrenaline rush to complete the Krytan missions before the beta's ended. I don't play it any more, mainly because they started pushing grind (titles, heroes, armor) and that offers no fun for me.

    Everquest
This is the first MMO that I ever played, and I lost 6 months of my life to it with leading a guild and the general social aspects.

    Warhammer Online
I have played this for a couple of months, although it has lost it's attraction to me, mainly because I am stuck on EU servers, and most of my friends are on the US servers. The PvP sieges are quite good and now have some half-decent rewards, although this was not true in the early days. I like how quests give a general area to go to, and not a precise location. The concept and overall design is good, although some of the feature implementations are questionable, to say the least. Scenarios... need I say more?

    Tabula Rasa
Plagued with overambitious system requirements on release, a plethora of bugs, and many other problems, I actually liked this title. The combat system was a refreshing change from other MMO's, and I think this was actually very well done. I also liked some of the CP area's and concepts. However, it did lack for content after the first few zones, and the actual character progress felt very limited, with little replay value for creating a new character.

Anyway, that's my two cents (and then some).

P.S. Wizard101 deserves an honorable mention. It is a great game concept that is well designed. It pretty much nails it's target audience. I also know that Kingsisle are working on another project, although what exactly I haven't been able to fathom as yet. It is certainly a company to keep an eye on.
