There's like an opinion that mmo's shouldn't be a place to flirt or meet someone
Actually from my experience the consensus is that the internet shouldn't be a place to try to start a relationship, but in my opinion that's a rather closed minded opinion. Anywhere there's social interaction there's a chance for a relationship to form. While I understand where they're coming from, I still think to just completely rule it out is like ruling out clubs or bars as a place to find somoene. As for me, I'm too much of a lone wolf in games to really develop any kind of relationship.
I dont understand why people cant just like walk outside, find a cute girl, and get married the good ole fashion way. But i guess if you can find love in an MMO that is cool you have something strong in common.
At least get the other person on TS/Vent at least to verify their sex. Well anyway my anwser to the question is No for myself
i've had 1 relationship ever that started through an mmo. we met a few times and eventually she moved in with me and after a couple of years it was over.
however i've met tons of girls on mmos who love to get on the webcam and put on shows for me though.
pics or it didn't happen.
Playing: Xsyon. Played: Tried: Ultima Online, Everquest 2, Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, Flyff, Perfect World, Silkroad Online, EVE Online, Ryzom.
I would love to meet a girl In an mmo. Im not fat or ugly, quite the opposite. I have always beena gamer that was good looking enough to get models. But, the models dont like to play vid games. It would be perfect to meet a girl that loves the same MMO I do. IT would be a shared interest that could be a life long hobby together.
My wife and I met in DAoC. One day I was slaying albs in nf with a bunch of friends, and a healer in the group caught my eye (saved me from those zerging b*****ds). 6 months later we met irl, we only lived about 100 miles away from each other. 8 months after that we got married, been happy ever since
I've seen many relationships form via MMOs. Of course the guilds/kins I have been a part of have been mature adult kins. Spending many hours with people well you get to know them sometimes better than people in RL. My last guild in WoW and the kin I am currently in LOTRO have had very strong bonds form in both friendships and relationships. Meeting in RL has been commonplace. Now romantically most did not last too long but there have been a few that became strong relationships. Considering that sometimes 1-2 year courtships (mostly as friends) were a part of these it's easy to see how once they knew each other in RL they grew closer.
