Eve expansion /moved

robbykl1415robbykl1415 Member Posts: 294

I got a question about the eve expansion.

When I first played the game a while back when I was creating a char it would let me put points to whatever attributes I wanted and I got to pick a job (Military:Special Forces for example).

Now when I do char creation all I get to pick is race, bloodline, and the other thing I forget what its called (activist, slave child, etc).

Now did all this come about with this new expansion? Or am I just missing the point somewhere? I don't understand the whole char creation process now. Can someone who plays please explain to me?

they made it easier for new players to make a character more specific to what they wanted to do ( a bit like classes) but without restricting the possibility to change anything they want, its just a simpler way to start off your character. honestly i am not impressed by it nor i found it necessary

Yea I didn't like the new way either.  I made me feel more constricted on my choice of char.

Alright well really I was just checking if I was the only who noticed and cared any.

I think that was a very bad addition to the game.....although I am really enjoying the game so far and just upgraded my trail account to a 1 mnth sub.

Anyone know any Eve sites that have a good charator creation tool?  I having trouble with the whole "what skill should I upgrade" and "what items should I equip" because I want to go the route of a fighter/military/PvP Guru but just don't know if I am taking the right path.

its not to bad because we can respec the points once a year now.

I wouldnt worry too much about this as most people who are new are like this. The important thing is that you keep on training those suplimentery skills that support the main ones.

New character creation kinda sucks. Back in the day you could get yourself into a Battlecruiser soloing level 3s within the 14 days trial if you had some friend to loan some ISKand boost your standing a bit. Sure they get double SP gain to make up for it but the old way was much better. You basically started out with every skill you need if you did your character creation right. At most you got a couple skills you don't need but in most cases you started off with at least an important level 5 and some nastey level 4 skills.

And back in the days, you started out with no skills at lvl 5.

This was when I started. I think I had, at most, 3-400k sp when I started out.

Started with around 10k sp.  When I was around 90k sp, someone mentioned the 'trick to get 100ksp' where you go for a lvl 4 racial frig skill.  Now you hhave around 50k and accelerated training until 1.6million.  There's the 10 part start missions too, as well as the epic arc.  I'd have killed for this NPE in 2005.
