Crashing client

Hey,

 

Ive downloaded the game and played it for a while but I have the problem that after a while the game just freezes, when I kill the process and rerun the game it freezes on the intro move (NDoors shizzle), I have to restart my machine to play the game, then after 10 to 20 minutes the game freezes again. Looks like a memory leak to me... anyone experienced this, or even better, have a solution?

if it was me i'd just reinstall and repatch it, possibly even download it again... i know it takes a while but if it STILL doesn't work (which I'd consider to be unlikely) then maybe update your graphics drivers and fiddle with any settings that might be causing problems with your hardware? =S

aight, thanks... im going to reinstall the game now, if that doesnt work, redownload it,... it's just weird, every other game runs fine.. I do liek AO so far and really want to continue playing, lvl 7 now...

yeah believe me I've had stuff like that too!

 

When I gave Tabula Rasa a go before it closed the client used to randomly crash the whole PC! lol

 

I think it was because of some error during patching...

my friends also having problems with the atlantica online... try to also check your computer specs and see the minimum requirements of atlantica online buy that it wont have any problems instaling the game... upgrade also your graphics card or video card.. direct x also.. if you complete the downloading the client of atlantica you just have to wait for the patch to successfully install in your computer... 1 more thing check also your settings for the game too high settings might get a chance to freeze or crush the game...

redownloaded the game, installed it, same problems, computer-specs are sufficient.

The game runs ok on my laptop though (dualcore 1.6(ish), 2GB ram), formatting my PC going for XP reinstall (was about time). L22 now and REALLY loving the game, having the same feeling as when I first played Dark Age of Camelot (my first mmo).

It always happened I think igf theres a new patch they increase the graphics of the game... like what they've said try to look on your dxdiag and check if it meets the minimum requiement of the game, update video card or reinstall it.. if there'ss a problem again. like what I did I send a ticket to CS of ndoors. They can help us players regarding on that problems.

Well it's not a permanent fix, but there is something you can do to get past that. When you start the game, before the loading screen loads, open task manager and right click on "Atlantica.exe". Then go to "set affinity", uncheck "cpu 1" and click ok. If you do that before it finishes loading it should work. Only problem is that you'd have to do that every time you started the game. However, if you're like me (I rarely close the game, I leave it open for days/weeks at a time) then it's not that much of a hassle.
