Hello. This is a serious post so please no derailing, I will report you. I have been rifling through terrible MMORPGs (DF, AoC, etc.) and typically I play them for a week or two to see how bad they are and then flame fanboys on the forum until my sub expires, I get banned or I get bored and go play another terrible newly released MMORPG. I was thinking about comprehensive forum like these forums with one difference being the level of discourse. I think that one positive aspect of having forums is to keep these companies in their place by slandering them after they repackage minesweeper and call it the best game in the world.
I think that anyone that can type a coherent sentence should be entitled to their opinion, be it good or bad review or a flame. Flaming someone's ill-stated and unsupported belief only strengthens their arguement if they choose to listen. I am aiming for something with strict rules on grammar and restrictions on the use of internet slang that uncreative illiterates plaster on forums like this one. I am looking for some people that feel the same way to maybe do some brainstorming and get something in the works. I have moderate PHP/MySQL abilities, access to webserver and some phpBB experience. If you have computer knowledge (HTML design, php, forum script, mySQL) and share my viewpoint, contact me via a PM. I can set up a vent chat.

What this tells me about you. Your ideas are set in stone and you are unwilling to alter them in any way and you will invariably follow standard conservative ideals when you discuss anything.
Why is it important for you to communicate in perfect english? If you are not able to learn something new, like internet slang, what would be the point of discussing anything with you?
You're an anal uncreative literate. Why even communicate with you? What can you offer me if I already know what you are going to say or do?

I don't need to justify anything to you. You come onto my serious post and attack me for allegedly attacking others. That is very hypocritical. I don't want to waste too much time on you but in a few sentences: The most entertaining and useful forum posts are written by people that care what they are writing about. "Go back to WoW", "you are a carebear", "ROFLMAO", "your mom" frankly isn't funny not to mention in a 100 page post 50 pages is babble with double negatives and people that lack the ability to project a coherant thought. It is a waste of time and personally they have nothing to offer me.
The most entertaining posts are made by people that mix in sarcasm and witty remarks without relying on cut and paste insults that you can find littered on the forum. Now I am not saying that I can write like Faulkner or jest like Bruce but I at least do a proof read, watch capitalizations, double negatives and run-on sentences (although I am the first to admit I miss alot; did enough marathon revising in college) and coherance. I neither care nor desire your critical analysis of my motives. I don't think that my expectations are anything new in the world of internet forums. Check out www.somethingawful.com. It is a forum site that has 70000 visits a day and they will ban your ass the minute you spew wreckless AOLisms and text-messaging style grammar. Read their rules and send them an email about how outraged you are that they are elitists because although I doubt they will, they might care unlike me.
By the way, what are "standard conservative ideals" on a video game forum? I know what they are in real life but on here? Technically, I suppose "standard conservative ideals" would be... well, I don't even know. Get back to me.

This thread should be used as a psychology case study. Someone makes a serious thread about how they want to start a forum similar to many other forums that already exist and people flame the thread. It is sadly ironic I guess.

Dude....start a blog here on MMORPG.com. Say what you feel. Nobody is going to think different and in fact there is a place for people to respond to your blog and if you don't like what they say you can delete it. You can also respond to the responses made by the people that respond to your blog. Bingo..there you go. Knock yourself out. Instant forum.

Do you always preface your surprisingly insightful and useful suggestions with personal attacks based on 2 paragraphs of research into a persons character?

Flaming is fine as far as I am concerned; as long as you don't try and spam, sell stuff, do anything illegal, post another person's private info, you are free to post anything. I believe reason will always win in the end.
We love MMOs and have fun ripping into the ones we don't like, particularly a certain Star Wars MMO that went through some big changes a couple of years ago....

I think my biggest concern with visiting MMORPG.com forums and most Official forums is that the viewpoints are ALWAYS one sided. It is always smart, comprehensive, well-written reviews which point out glaring flaws and then responses of "you are a noob that's why" or "da game aint for j00" or "go back to WoW." I really like flaming games and unsupported opinions about those games. The worse the games are generally the more fanatic the fanboys are. They never say WHY the game is good, just that it is "the best ever." I would like to make a site where people are actually held up to a standard so they could throw down intelligently. Even have a rating system for good posts and labels like "Champion of Darkfall" for someone that eloquenlty defends the merits of the game over the course of a few weeks or "Darkfall's Bane" for someone that can nerd rage a complete sentence and prove why the game is terrible (I know those titles are cheesy but I just thought them up on the fly lol). It seems like it would be more fun that these forums where I post my review, get called a carebear noob with a slutty mom, then leave and try another train wreck of a game. Anyways, that is what I think and I figured it was worth a shot but obviously this forum isn't the right place to ask for constructive ideas or collaboration.
And one more thing. 99% of my posts portray me as an asshole. I don't come on here to flirt with people, meet friends or talk about the weather. I come on here to slander terrible games that steal my money and the people that blindly support those games. I will NEVER get how people who are generally nice and social in their posts get away with flaming the flamers with some of the most rotten rhetoric and no one bats an eye. Just the nature of the beast I suppose.
And for the dumbass that is going to get a free post by asking me if I have heard of paragraphs, no I haven't.

I believe it is YOU that wants US to come with you to a new forum so yes you do need to justify things to us.
If you don't want to waste time with us here why do you need us to join you somewhere else?

"Standard conservative ideals" on a video game means taking something popular and familiar and putting a clock in it.
Don't invite flamers to a flame war if you are sensitive to heat, and trust me, you ARE sensitive to heat. What's that old saying? If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen? I can only imagine what you'll be like in a flamer forum when you can't even stand a little criticism here.

So he came here stating his intent on making a flame forum where he can rip on others yet when people criticize his views and motives he gets sensitive. I can only imagine if he ever gets his idea off the ground how fast he will be banning people off his site if their views don't follow his mentality.
And why the hell would people who enjoy the games you hate go to your site anyways and listen to your rambling? I doubt anybody is going to show up and stay there and suffer your constant insults. Eventually such a site would evolve into just you and maybe another person like you sitting around saying "this game sucks" over and over again.

Mine does that too sometimes. To get it to stand still all I really do is sneak up on it and scare the shit out of it. Stops it dead in its tracks!
The only time that this doesn't work is when it's melting. I don't know what the fuck to do when the computer monitor starts melting.
As for schloob.. Well. I really don't have much to say towards you at this point other tha- ::caughjerkoffcaugh:: excuse me, other than I don't think you'll be seeing a flaming forum in these parts.
