Its all in the class. The only working playstyle for a rogue is that of an asshole.

Therefore most people who roll rogue are already assholes, otherwise they would have picked another class. If they arent assholes to begin with, they soon become that ...

Because rogues do it from behind?

Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing.

ROFL!! Probably the most sweepingly ignorant reply to a post ever! Get the feeling someone got taken down by a Rogue one too many times, lol.

What's next, all the people who play Pally's are cowards because they use a healing fighter class, all the people who play Mages have bad BO and that's why they choose a ranged class or maybe all people that play undead chars do so because they are already butt ugly anyway?

It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays.

Now i am confused, how did that in anyway prove your point?

I do have a fairly high level rogue, but then i also have a warrior and a hunter too, but my main is a Mage. So please, i would love to hear your in depth psychological assessment of how my particular mix of characters effects my personality?

You proved my point by having a rogue avatar and acting like an asshole by wanting to start a flamewar . Get it now ?

Rogues are very much a class for individualists. They are very powerful one v one, particularly in world pvp, but don't play nearly so well in teams. If a rogue is played well in a group situation, then it will tend to hang around the back of enemy lines, picking off weak people, sapping, and disrupting the enenmy - but it's still largely fighting it's battles alone - which contrasts considerably with more group based classes, such as shamen, priests, or warriors.

That's not to say all rogues are bad players, or can't work in a group - I've met some really great people who play rogues - however, it is a tendency. When I'm playing my rogue, I feel far less reason to work with other people than if I played almost any other class.

I am not doing to defend or slam WOW, but this thread has a lot of narrow-sighted responses here.  If you notice, there are players of every class in the game that try to gain an unfair advantages and who will maul you then taunt.  I've been in Bgs and got killed 15 vs 1 and took two of them down will me and the guys still did crap like /lol and /golfclap.

The only reason why you notice this more with rogues is because they excel at catching solo players off guard.

Im playing a preist on horde side on Ravencrest PVP server, and are often engaged in combat with alliance players, sometimes i win and sometimes them, anyway most of the times when i loose the player who beat me would "salute" or "bow" at me, or some other respectfull gesture.
But then there are rogues, these guys will sneak up behind me and do some backstap from stealth, im fine with that its what they do, but then when im dead on the ground they will "spit" or " make rude gesture" or some other stupid remark, its not all the times but very often ( i take notes ), ofcourse other classes do this, but rarely, rogues realy top the list by far.
So back to my question, whats going on in those peoples heads ?

Those rogues you mention do not have style my friend.

I am glad I have my rogue on a RPPvP server. I retired my rogue from dungeons and raids as pretty much if leather drops, hunters and druids will QQ until their eyes bleed if a rogue need some leather . So I retired my rogue from drama and went into the worst nightmare in open pvp world. I admit, I became a vicious ganker.

I get gold from some very well known guilds, and get contracts to gank players. So the people that get ganked dont know why they are trashed over and over again. I have a ganking list lol. And guilds do not know for who I work. Plus I can open locked boxes. I get paid very well from these guilds. So, all that gold I get, I spend it on my paladin, which happens to be a very welcome asset on dungeons and raids.

    Have fun.

SOME people in all classes do that.

I never did unless it was done to me first then revenge and hate required it over and over until they begged me to stop.

You call all rogue players assholes, then accuse the other guy of starting a flame war?  Unless you yourself play a rogue as your main, I think it's safe to say you invalidated your own argument.

  • GaurnGaurn Member Posts: 305

I agree.  A rogue does their job and if their opponent is simply not prepared to handle the rogue then how does that make the rogue a bad person?

I suggest the unprepared person has let their team down by not studying the thousands of posts that exist all over the internet that explain how to defeat the rogue. It's not hard to defeat the rogue - all you have to do is study and practice the techniques.

When I hit 70 with my first rogue  I  could help my team but only because I studied how to hurt the other classes from successful rogues. We stealthers would go take towers and harass and vanish and tie up a half dozen enemy players for many minutes trying to kill the bad ole rogue and leave their post unguarded and our teammates would capture it.

When they turned around to recapture it I'd gank one from behind and they'd  turn to help their team mate then turn back to their post trying to make up their minds. It was wonderful to perform in the role of a sniper with enemies that could defeat me in a duel but the psychology kept me alive.

No more though, a rogue, druid or whatever  that performs stealther duties will not gain decent points in a BG nowadays.  You got to get in or near the brawl to score. Sad.

My main character is a Rogue.  The only fun I ever have in PvP is gankin' n00bs, and that is only fun for so long.

But duel-wielding Malice and Remorse in combat spec doing 5k+ dps... that is fun :)
