Best Isometric View MMO?

AndurinAndurin Member UncommonPosts: 125

Well, i've tried about everything there is out there right now.  All the new AAA MMO's and can't get into any of them.  I've had an appetite for some diablo style gaming lately, can anyone recommend the best isometric type of MMO?

Link realms is the only one I can think of off the top of my head, it is in beta by invite I believe. If you go on their forums you might get a place in their beta.

I dont know much about it though other than what I have read in this thread:

    www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/222219/linkrealmsfinally-something-decent-for-the-sandbox-crowd-updated-21109.html

    Their site:

    Hope that helps.

Thanks.  I already know about that game and have had hard time getting into the beta.

As far as UO goes,  I am an oldschool uo player so I know all about it.  I still do play on a private shard but the regular EA shards are not my cup of tea.

I was looking for a diabloe type of game, like a monster bashing type deal ya know?

May I ask a honost question in to what is it that you like about isometric view.

To me it would mean a hugh step back, it's old to me and definitly for me personaly anti-immersive especialy when I personaly want to to play a MMORPG. It's a been there and at the time we had those games hoped we move soon from that isometrec view and creat a slightly more realistic view.

Perhaps it's because I have played so many games in the past especialy RPG's with isometric views that might also be a reason why I personaly don't want it anymore.

So like I said in my first sentence, what is that so good or fun or what ever for you with isometric view?, I really would like to know and hope you might want to explain it.

Dungeon runners,  it's a free, humorous, MMO Diablo. it has a good skill system too.

Honestly, I don't know man.  I just have to urge every once in a while to play a game with an isometric view.  Maybe it was because of my love affair with Diablo's and then Ultima Online, maybe nostalgia?  Sometimes I just like to beat stuff up, like Fate if you have ever played that game.

Diablo 3, which is a new game will have isometric view and that game is seriously going to kick ass.

You could also try the original Lineage as it is also isometric view.

    Will check it out thanks.

donjn:  I know man, I wanted to play that game sooo badly.  I know for a fact that game would have done very well too.  If someone was smart, they would buy it up and finish it then release it.  I know they had a pretty good portion of the game done,  I think they had a pretty good beta going with most features and the game world complete.

Just an FYI to everyone:  I seriously doubt I'll be playing this game long.  I'm a triple AAA type of MMO guy myself,  I won't play any of these games really seriously, just something to goof around with in the mean time, since there seems to be nothing out there new thats fun.

    GIVE ME AION OR SOMETHING!!

Diablo style theres Sacred 1 and 2 and Titan Quest. My bro keeps saying they're awesome but I've never got round to really playing them, the zones I've seen they just looked to bright unlike Diabo but they do look to have the same hack and slash oomph if you like their graphical style.

Those are single player games but Titan Quest is good.
