Hey all,
Just started my subscription (I liked the trial, and my friend said he'd play again if I started) Anyway... I can't seem to figure out what will be the best class for me.
My friend rolled a monk, so I want to choose something that would be really good for us to duo with, and also be viable for end-game content.
I generally like to melee more than stand behind the lines.
I tried a Bard so far to level 10, yet the idea of singing and playing instruments kinda turns me off, and it seems the DPS is rather weak compared to the other medium classes.
I think I'm debating between Paladin, Cleric, and Discipile.
My worry with Paladin is that in the end-game their DPS/Healing is worthless.
My worry with cleric is I'll be doing too much healing (though I heard they are more fun these days and actually hit mobs on the front line. Are clerics good dps?)
And Discipile seems to be a combination of both but it's medium classed armor and it may be annoying to fight over the same weapons/armor as a monk.
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks!

A good class to go with that monk would be a Paladin. You hold aggro, do you own bit of damage and heal. Monk can flop off aggro when his dps pulls it from your taunts. I 'think' Paladin's have some sort of endurance aura or something that a monk will love. That duo would be pretty darn effective.

Paladin, or Disciple seem to be the popular ones. I currently play a Shaman, as I just resubscribed. I like healing, and I like Wood Elves. That was my only option for that combination. And I enjoy it. Hehe
I would go Disciple, it would compliment your friends monk perfectly.
I digging my cleric. As mentioned before clerics don't do a lot of dps but I can out last almost anything.
So far at 21 I only have 1 DD and the rest are melee attacks. So my mana pretty much sits on full for healing.
